Yanks vs Boston 8.26.08

What started out as a promising game, unravelled quickly. Yankees scored 3 runs and 2 of those belong to Johnny Damon.

Arod is lucky he hasn't been shot yet. Numerous opportunities were wasted in this game. Sounds like a broken record. Did you see his face at his second to last at bat....you know he felt those boos, and he took it in. How funny would it be if he turned around and was like "Yeah, keep booing, I'm the bad guy!!".

Andy Pettite ate it as well, getting knocked out of the game in the 5th inning, but I must say that the home plate ump was really being a douche about the strike zone. There were alot of pitches that Andy should have gotten the call on, you could see the frustration on Andy's face.

Jason Giambi had a shitty game as well, I believe he reached based once on an error. He also comitted an error as well, by umm "forgetting" to throw home, allowing a run to score.

When Joe Girardi was asked after the game how he felt, he just said "Tomorrow's a new day." Yeah Joe, a new day closer to not making the playoffs. I heard they are auditioning for someone to host a new version of Mr. Rogers neighborhood.

This just breaks my heart :(

I just read this article on Yahoo Sports...

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP)—Nine-year-old Jericho Scott is a good baseball player— too good, it turns out.
The right-hander has a fastball that tops out at about 40 mph. He throws so hard that the Youth Baseball League of New Haven told his coach that the boy could not pitch any more. When Jericho took the mound anyway last week, the opposing team forfeited the game, packed its gear and left, his coach said.

Officials for the three-year-old league, which has eight teams and about 100 players, said they will disband Jericho’s team, redistributing its players among other squads, and offered to refund $50 sign-up fees to anyone who asks for it. They say Jericho’s coach, Wilfred Vidro, has resigned.

But Vidro says he didn’t quit and the team refuses to disband. Players and parents held a protest at the league’s field on Saturday urging the league to let Jericho pitch.

“He’s never hurt any one,” Vidro said. “He’s on target all the time. How can you punish a kid for being too good?”

The controversy bothers Jericho, who says he misses pitching.

“I feel sad,” he said. “I feel like it’s all my fault nobody could play.”

Jericho’s coach and parents say the boy is being unfairly targeted because he turned down an invitation to join the defending league champion, which is sponsored by an employer of one of the league’s administrators.

Jericho instead joined a team sponsored by Will Power Fitness. The team was 8-0 and on its way to the playoffs when Jericho was banned from pitching.

“I think it’s discouraging when you’re telling a 9-year-old you’re too good at something,” said his mother, Nicole Scott. “The whole objective in life is to find something you’re good at and stick with it. I’d rather he spend all his time on the baseball field than idolizing someone standing on the street corner.”

League attorney Peter Noble says the only factor in banning Jericho from the mound is his pitches are just too fast.

“He is a very skilled player, a very hard thrower,” Noble said. “There are a lot of beginners. This is not a high-powered league. This is a developmental league whose main purpose is to promote the sport.”

Noble acknowledged that Jericho had not beaned any batters in the co-ed league of 8- to 10-year-olds, but say parents expressed safety concerns.

“Facing that kind of speed” is frighteneing for beginning players, Noble said.

League officials say they first told Vidro that the boy could not pitch after a game on Aug. 13. Jericho played second base the next game on Aug. 16. But when he took the mound Wednesday, the other team walked off and a forfeit was called.

League officials say Jericho’s mother became irate, threatening them and vowing to get the league shut down.

“I have never seen behavior of a parent like the behavior Jericho’s mother exhibited Wednesday night,” Noble said.

Scott denies threatening any one, but said she did call the police.

League officials suggested that Jericho play other positions, or pitch against older players or in a different league.

Local attorney John Williams was planning to meet with Jericho’s parents Monday to discuss legal options.

“You don’t have to be learned in the law to know in your heart that it’s wrong,” he said. “Now you have to be punished because you excel at something?”

Yanks vs O's (some observations)

Well this game is going to end at about midnight. Thank god I didn't make any plans today lol.

6 innings at a tie game and really shitty pitching....3 hours and counting. And you know how I know I wont forget? Because Michael Kay wont shut up about it. He's also made remarks about wanting Kim Jones mom so I'm a little freaked out. Nobody could date him right? Could you imagine sitting through a dinner with Michael Kay.

Kevin Millar is a freakshow. WTF is on his face? Is that a mustache? Is it dirt? Dirtball Millar.

Also, is their something mentally wrong with Mora? If you watch him he makes the oddest movements. When he came up against Ramirez, after strike one he had this look like he was gonna charge the mound. I'm telling you, that mans on the verge of flipping the eff out.

Does anybody remember a player named Melky Cabrera? Did he just see that ball Cano just smoked? Wow. 425 feet. I'm asking alot of questions, sorry, I'm a little hyper. I've been nonstop since Vegas, I need to take it easy, I think I'm Paris Hilton or someone.

Holy Crap...

We are still breathing? Everyone is still here??! Pavano didn't break his hand before the game?

So the great American idle pitched his first game and won it, but that doesn't mean he did such a great job. Sounds like he got lucky to me. I have to admit I didn't watch the game because I had a birthday dinner to go to but as soon as I woke up today I flew to Lohud from my phone. In doing so I came across this statement and had a coronary in the back of the cab.

Carl Pavano: “This is what I get paid to do, obviously. This is what I live for. This is all I really know, to go out there every fifth day and do my job.”

Your job? Your a thief Pavano!!! A fucking crook. Now I'm getting worked up I have to go....

Yankees vs Twins 8.11.08

Gosh. I'm just at a loss for words.

First off, way to go Girardi on benching the hottest hitter in the AL, Johnny Damon, when your team is struggling. You don't want him to play on the turf 3 days in a row? C'mon Joe. Oh and while your at it bench Giambi. Smooth move skipper. When your own commentators are questioning you throughout the game its not a good thing.

The Yankees have now lost 4 straight.

Sidney Ponson pitched a good game and got no run support from the struggling Yanks. I think one of the only people with hits this game was Bobby Abreu. Shame on you Yankees. Shame on you.

Oh yeah, Melky Cabrera is starting in every game. WTF?

If this was back in the day George Steinbrenner would have had you shitting your pants Girardi.

UPDATE: Michael Kay just said he doesn't understand the Johnny Damon move and he will not, will NOT except any explanation for it. Now your in trouble Joe.
How much would you pay to see Kay and Girardi fist fight on the next Joe Girardi show? Shit, I would pay just to see them arm wrestle.

Angels sweep the Yankees

And there you have it folks. This is a team that has fallen apart in my eyes. I'm not even sure where to begin. I guess we shall start with situational hitting, they just suck at it. We cannot score with runners in scoring position. Arod is up there hitting for himself it seems. Prime example in todays game, why in the world was Arod trying to steal third with X Nady up and 1 out? You got a player at the plate who has been hot of late and your messing with a tie game. So many opportunities to score and none taken advantage of, there is a serious problem there.

Pitching: Mariano Rivera seems to have a brain malfunction in games that are not a save situation. On the first pitch he threw the Angels won this game, granted theres a good chance Wilson Betimit had a shot at making that play had he tried. But nonetheless your solid closer is no longer solid for you. The rest of the bullpen is good but they are young so at this point they are hit or miss. Andy Pettite, bless his little heart, that man played his ass of today and put all he had into it, he knows he's been struggling but he wanted to show that he cares and put his all in.
The Yankees also have yet to secure a solid rotation, it seems every cycle we have a new starter somewhere, its August 10th thats scary. Granted we have had some injuries but this cannot keep on as a guessing game at this point in the season.

Joe Girardi: I'm still undecided about this man. He has made many questionable decisions this season, but on the flipside he has dealt with alot. The injuries, the dramas and the let downs were not things I think he was expecting this season. I dont know what goes on in the clubhouse and what the feeling is about him, but I do know I have yet to hear a Yankee say anything great about him. Is it a respect level? Do the Yankees not respect this man? He also seems to have a problem standing up to major players, watching the post game he says he had no problem with Arod stealing third. Really? Maybe these players need someone whos gonna put some fire under their asses, the only thing Joe seems to have perfected is his ability to be Mr. Nice guy with the media and such. What do YOU think?

And so the drama continues as the Yankees face a series vs the Twins. They are still in the race for the wild card but a few more losses and continuing down this path could make that all history very soon.

P.s Did anyone see that terrible shirt Pettite was wearing on the post game show? What a guido/ goon shirt that was! And Johnny Damon shirtless behind Cano being interviewed!! So not fair......Does Arod get collagen in his lips....I dunno yo...looking a bit puffy....I wouldnt be surprised, but I just love his interviews, he's the only one that is very direct, I just laughed out loud three times during that interview, "Yeah I was safe, I was safe"

Dear Ian Kennedy...

You suck.

My hatred for you is reaching Carl Pavano hatred levels.

Your teammates probably hate you as well.

You've been warned.

Yankees vs Rangers 8.7.08

Sooo I missed the first 5 innings because I needed a nap after work. It was a late night for the hottie last night. So far I see Moose got the job done, its a 2-0 Yankees lead....Once again kids...I wasnt watching...hmmmmm

I am just now noticing that David Murphy was placed on the DL after that plate collision with Pudge. HA HA! I'm sick of your face Murphy.

From what I gather Melky is off the team and Arod still effin sucks.

The next starting pitcher contest is still on...

Hope the Yankees win this tonight, they need to put together winning streak to saty in the game. And Joe Girardi needs to get it together and stop having so much blind faith in people.

Lets Go Yankees!!

UPDATE: Yankees win even though I watched the final innings. BTW whats with all this "Phil Franchise" talk. Did I miss something? Who started this? Leave it on the comment section, Thanks.

Its Official

and no I'm not talking about Joba going on the DL...

I am a Yankees jinx! Everytime I don't watch a game we win. I swear.

How does Ponson do it?

Riding a wave of luck or genuine talented pitcher? What do YOU think? Start some shit in the comments section ;)

Yanks beat the Rangers (finally) 5-3.

Yankees vs Rangers 8.5.08

All I will say for tonight is that Joe Girardi is an idiot. The whole Pudge pinch running/Melky pinch hitting thing...WTF? In what world does that make sense?

David Robertson...who still thinks it would have been a bad move to go to him last night instead of staying Marte?

David Murphy, David fucking Murphy. I have psychic abilities my friends.

Game is now getting shutoff, Bruney just gave up 3 more runs. And he's staying in to face Kinsler. Nite Nite!

Joba may be out of comission, start praying for a miracle.

According to Pete Abes Blog Joba will have an MRI done today on his shoulder. He left the game last night with stiffness. Girardi says at the very least he will miss his next start but we have heard that before....

This is all this team needs, how many injuries can one team endure?! And it had to be Joba...with our rotation in the shitter this is looking very bleak for the Yankees. We need a miracle if we are going to make it to the Playoffs. With our offensive slumps, Joe Girardi making silly moves and our unsteady rotation its hard to think positive. Pull through Joba!! I said it once and I'll say it again, how the weight of the world rests on his shoulders...literally.

Who thinks if I went to visit him he would feel better? I can do things Joba, I can do some things!! :)

Yankees vs Rangers 8.4.08

Hey Ya'll you ready for a sweaty ballgame? Its like 107 degrees in Texas right now...

Justin Christian is going to get a start tonight in centerfield since he was a "star" yesterday. Hope the kid can make it happen again.....Joe Girardi stated that Dan Giese will get the start on Friday instead of Rasner. Ian Kennedy...the Yankees still hate you. Phil Hughes...you can do no wrong apparantley.

I have a question. Why are people talking, blogging, even thinking about Carl Pavano? The whole world knows he is a douche, so theres no need monitor him and discuss his progress. The Yanks will give him a start and then say that his plane crashed 3 days before and he forgot to mention it.

The game is underway in Texas and I dont know who's at the plate, oh its Giambi, theres a pound of hair missing from his face so i wasnt sure..Bobby Abreu hit a single and Arod just walked, Giambi at the plate at a 2-2 count,......full count....2 OUT single...Abreu scores...its already 1-0 Yankees...to be honest though Giambi should've been out, but I'll take it haha!

//David Murphy, rookie on the Rangers, Hes the guy I'm not gonna like this series, theres always one.
//Joba is just ridiculous his stuff is just nasty. I get turned on when I watch him pitch. Is that weird?
//Thank god Kay isnt announcing tonight. I was not in the mood to hear the whole history of the name SALTALAMACCHIA
//Giambi knows what hes doing. He shaves the stache and he just hit an upper deck Homer. Its 2-0 Yanks, Giambi has driven in both those runs.
//Cano goes yard in the same inning. 3-0
//Joba gave up a 2 run Homer. 3-2
// 2 Balks get called on Padilla allowing johnny Damon to score. Game is 4-2.
// Joba gives up a 3 run homer to Michael Young. This game is now 5-4 Rangers. All this on a bullshit reversed call. Joba is pissed.
// Make that Joba is hurt? He just got taken out of the game grabbing his shoulder. Shit.

Xavier Nady is the best thing thats happened all week. X man drills a homerun to tie this game...i thought for sure that ball was going to get caught. I was about to fall asleep. This would be a big win considering the Red Sox and The Rays have lost already tonight.

//What did I say about Murphy...effin guy.

Well kids a walkoff loss. Marte should have never been left in this game after he loaded the bases. No way. Robertson was warmed up and should have been called on. It was agamble either way. Joe Girardi is to blame for this one, thats how I see it.

Thoughts?

Yankees comeback to defeat Angels, split series.

So, I was once again a gypsy this weekend so I was only able to catch todays game here and there. The important thing is that we won bitches! ha ha! So we split this series and didnt get swept like Boston did.

Xavier Nady came through for the Yankees, Pudge woke up today with a homer and the game was just awesomeness. Yankees just kept coming back to beat the Angels. The good thing is that they can now head into this 10 game road trip with some good energy.

I just read over at Lohud that Giambi has shaved the stache! The stache will be missed, but it obviously lost its magic.

Jobamania tomorrow night...

Saturday, August 2, 2008

Ouch...

that one hurt.

The Yankees lost a tough one to the Angels o-1 last night.

If Sidney Ponson was pitching for his job last night, he got it done....He pitched 7 terrific innings vs the best team in baseball allowing no runs in 7 innings. By far his best outing for the Yankees.

Marte came in to pitch a flawless 8th.

Enter Mariano Rivera. When Mo comes into a game you assume the job is going to get done. But not last night, not this season for that matter. Unless it is a save situation Mo seems to be having some trouble. He walked a batter and then allowed to hits, the walk would be the runner to score the Angels winning run. In the bottom of the 9th the Yankees could not come back to at least tie it, Arod, Giambi and Cano didnt get it done. The Yankees seem to be slumping back to their old selves as of late.

I'll be missing the game today because I am doing this lame ass thing theycall working. Hope the Yankees can at least split this series! Have a great weekend everybody!!
