Yesterday I was stunned as I got to work and started receiving text messages stating George Steinbrenner died. I didn't get sad right away, it just had me reflecting on everything he did for baseball. I always respected George for being the great business mind he was. As controversial as he was he sill did great things for the game of baseball and created the blueprint for other owners to follow.
You will be deeply missed by all of us in Yankee land. R.I.P. Mr. Steinbrenner. I know you are in a big luxury box in the sky!
I also want to give props to Chris Chavez who did an excellent job of updating this blog as news was breaking. Nice work Chris!
