We had to lose the Red Sox Series? Really??

I haaaaaate when the Yankees play at Fenway....i dont know why i just do. and i hate when The Yankees look defeated before the game even starts! Anyone else see this but me? Like they just want to get the hell out of there.....gives me the creeps.

I am however enjoying watching the Sox get whooped tonight and dice k shitting himself.....best feeling EVER!!

Its only Monday and Im tired, my body hurts and i need a massage. Dont everyone jump at once. Im whiney today, have you noticed?

I have not been to a game yet this season...something is wrong with this picture dammit. I need a sunny warm yankee game with cold beers to brighten me up....

Yep, thats what the Yankees do and that's exactly what happened today.

Opening day told fans alot about what they should expect this season. The lineup was efficient today, maybe not exactly how Girardi expected but it panned out. CC was a little shaky today (which I expected) but he kept the boys in the game. He and Justin Verlander put up a pretty good fight making this game a nail bitter for a while. Joba came into the 7th inning and I covered my eyes in fear. Turns out homie SHUT IT DOWN! Now if he could just get himself some Rogaine, did you guys see that hairline? Yikes! He looks puffy and old as hell. Anyway, moving on.....Soriano did his thing in the 8th and Mo came in to be, well, MO. He ended the game in classic Rivera fashion.

Brett Gardner bunted twice today, one of those times I think on his own reasoning. He was shown talking to Joe Girardi in the dugout afterwards, possibly explaining his actions while also doing his best Bruce Willis impression. Both times he was successful in the sacrifice but his speedy little legs didn't get him on base this game. Shocking I know. Teixera broke his usual April slump by crushing a 3 run homerun to put the Yanks in the game...I was screaming, and wanting to makeout with him to show my appreciation. Looks like Tex's offseason work may pay off.

Curtis Granderson. CURTIS GRANDERSON!!! Holy shit. He was fantastic today. he made a dope diving catch early in the game and then a few more redic plays in centerfield. He also smashed a homer off ex Yankee Phil Coke. Lets pause here a minute. WHAT THE F*CK HAPPENED to Phil Coke?? He looks like he got pulled out of a drain. No, wait...he looks like he should be living in a trailer waiting for his next score of Oxycontin. Jesus. I'm so embarrassed to have had a sordid love affair with him. Ugh. Back too Grandy...he had major star power today. I look forward to him having a great season.

Oh and just in case you didn't know, if you are a Direct TV customer you may lose....YOUR MIND with all these damn commercials and graphics about there dispute with the YES Network. # annoying

I didn't go to today's game which I was bummed about but I'm not upset because it look cold as hell out there! But if you went your a trooper and hope you had a blast.

Baseball season is underway!!!! Yeah bitches!!!

I am so happy to be sitting on my couch watching a Yankee spring training game! What makes it even better is that im watching the potential lineup for opening day. I think the line up is pretty killer, or should I start using the word gnarly a la Charlie Sheen?? Yea I think im going to start embracing "gnarly". What was I saying? Oh yes, opening day is right around the corner! Yesssssss! Im also thrilled right now that the Yankees are whooping the Orioles ass right now!

Is Jesus Montero going to make this team because I need something young and big too look at this season.....Please!!

Hola Yankee fans....

So spring training workouts have begun, yay! I can't wait to begin posting again! Sorry for the lack of updates this offseason but honestly nothing thrilling happened. Yes, Andy retired but there was no dramatics. A lot of us expected that to happen. At the end of the day Derek is still a Yankee and we don't know WTF is up with the rotation.......I'm starting to get used to this fact -_-

There was one fun fact however, I am proud to say that the Liz Russell salon ( my mothers salon) was responsible for Michael Kays wonderful wifes hair on their wedding day! Jodi is a lovely woman and I'm happy for the great couple. I even got to shake Kays hand! I was hysterical in my head lol. Nice guy. For those of you who follow me on twitter, I tried to drop hints but no one was paying attention to my tweets since I am a "seasonal" tweeter. LOL

Why The Yankees Will Regret Their Treatment of Derek Jeter

One day we will all look back at shake our respective heads at the Yankees’ handling of the Derek Jeter contract negotiations. Some of us are doing it as we speak. How can a storied franchise like the New York Yankees consistently treat their superstars like common trash? They did it to Bernie Williams, they are publicly doing it to Derek Jeter, and privately to Mariano Rivera.

The Yankees brass told us that it’s business as usual. This would be a business negotiation. So why, then, did it turn so ugly and personal? The Yankees have publicly bashed the face of their franchise, unmercifully. They have turned Derek Jeter into just another shortstop. He’s aging, they say, his skills are diminishing. He’s not much better, if at all, than the other shortstops in the league. Not only is this an ugly negotiation, but now they are trashing one of the best Yankees to ever wear the pinstripes.

What do you do when, or if, he signs? Then you sing his praises again? You tell him, and the fans, that it was just business? That all is well? Because all is, certainly, not well. When Jeter takes his spot among the best of the best, we will remember these negotiations. We will remember your words about a steady, uber successful captain who you now call selfish. Cashman publicly is telling Jeter to shop himself around. He’s daring him to find a better offer.

All this after the Yankees gave ARod the richest contract in baseball history. The guy with the bad hip. The guy whose skills are also diminishing. The guy who needed to join Jeter to win a World Series ring. But they paid ARod for his potential milestones. They gave him money from the YES network. They rewarded him after he gave the team a black eye with his admitted steroid use. (Quick reminder here, it was Derek Jeter who had the team attend ARod’s press conference and show public support for him. It was Jeter who helped get ARod back on track. But that doesn’t matter to the Yankees.)

Need I remind you that Derek Jeter won another gold glove this season? And yes, sabermetric geeks, his range isn’t great. However his knowledge and preparation are. He scouts batters and puts himself in the right spot almost all of the time. He had 6 errors last season. 6. His fielding percentage was .989 and he had the highest zone rating, by far. And by the way, he played 151 games at short, not bad for an old guy. Jeter’s sure hands, strong arm, and accuracy are never talked about. Why? Because they’re not convenient to the Yankees and NY media’s agenda.

Let’s talk about Jeter’s worst statistical season at the plate. He batted .270 with 10 HR’s and 67 RBI’s. Jeter’s average was down 40 points off his career numbers. He had his worst OBP and slugging percentages as well. It was definitely a bad year at the plate for the Captain. But was it THAT bad? Let’s investigate.

For a team that is worried about Jeter’s age, he had the most at bat’s in his career. His 111 runs scored ranks among his best years ever. He walked 63 times, which is right in line with his career average. His 10 HR’s was the exact same number he hit three times before. How about his 67 RBI’s? That’s not even in his bottom 3 worst seasons. His 106 strikeouts on the year? You guessed it, right in line with his average. Jeter also stole 18 bases, once again not bad for an old guy.

Since Jeter is old, he must have deteriorated in the second half of the season right? No. Jeter sat down with Kevin Long and worked on his swing. Over the last month of the season Jeter hit .444 with an OBP of .524. From the leadoff spot, the first at bat of the game, Jeter’s average was .304 on the season. Derek’s average at home was .295, again not too shabby. But the Yankees can be successful without him, right? Well… In the 92 wins the Yankees had, Jeet hit .288 with 9 HR’s and 52 RBI’s. In their losses the Captain hit .243 with 1 HR and 15 RBI’s. Hmm, you can make the case as Jeter goes, so goes the Yankees.

Now in Jeter’s worst year at the plate, you have to figure he’d be in the bottom half of the Majors compared to other shortstops, right? Right? Wow, this is getting awkward. Jeter is in the top 10, among Major League shortstops, in average, doubles, OPS, and OBP. He ranks first in at bats, runs, and third in walks. For you sabermetric fans, Jeter ranks 6th in BB/K and 4th in runs created. What that last stat means is you can’t say he has so many runs because he plays on the Yankees. He earned enough runs to be fourth in the majors. And remember, this was his worst season at the plate. Chew on that.

Now let’s talk about the media, some fans, and Yankees’ brass portraying Jeter as the ‘villain.’ This really gets my blood boiling. The media and Yankees fans make the case, that in this economy Jeter should be happy with 3 yrs at $15 million per. He’s just being greedy, they say, and will make sky high ticket prices go even higher. Well, idiots, listen up. The Yankees just raised ticket prices. Why? Well, it wasn’t to pay Jeter. They raised them because YOU are making a profit on some seats by selling them on Stubhub. So the Yankees decided they wanted a piece of the action and raised the prices. Classy organization, right?

And since when did we all become anti-capitalist? “Yeah, he should take a pay cut and not try to make so much money! Doesn’t he have enough? He’s getting paid so much to play a game! Shouldn’t he do it for the love of the game???” Let’s see your wallet and ego deal with a pay cut. You are the same morons who want the Yankees to overpay for Cliff Lee. If you’re going to be stupid, at least be consistent. Do you think the Yankees are hurting for cash? Do you hear them complaining they shouldn’t be making sky high profits? Did they care when Hank signed ARod til 2017?

Speaking of good old Hank, guess who popped up again! Hank told the media, in reference to Jeter, “We already made these guys very, very rich.” Well, your dad did Hank. And Jeter made him very, very, very rich as well. And your dad made you rich. So while we complete this circle, why don’t we take away some of your unearned fortune to pay Jeter? Go back to cleaning up the horse’s shit and go away.

Is it really unreasonable to believe that Derek Jeter won’t make the Yankees double their investment back? You don’t think they’ve made hundreds of millions off of #2? I wonder how many jerseys he’s sold for them. I wonder how many t-shirts. I wonder how many people go to the game just to see Derek Jeter. I bet those numbers are substantially high. And, oh by the way, Jeter will reach 3,000 hits this season. That’s a merchandising cash cow. And how many people will buy tickets or tune in to YES for several games to see that happen?

Let’s get real here. If Jeter plays long enough, he is on pace to break Pete Rose’s all time hits record. I’m not saying he’ll do it, but I bet it will keep people very interested to see how close he can get. Isn’t that the same reason they kept ARod? Except Jeter’s doing it the right way. No off field drama (until, the idiots in the front office intervened this year), no on field drama, no steroids, no hgh, no problems. Derek is the poster boy for playing the game clean and is the most recognizable athlete in sports. But the Yankees keep knocking him down, and dragging his name through the mud, because that’s how they treat future hall of famers.

When I think about it, I don’t recall Cashman taking a pay cut this year. But I do recall having to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to improve the pitching staff because he sucks at evaluating talent. I really admire the Burnett deal Brian, great job. And now you’re going to spend over $100 million dollars on Lee, a guy who you, coincidentally, could have had last year had you not screwed up the trade. He’s the same guy who knocked the Yankees out of the playoffs. Thanks.

I also find it amusing that you won’t offer Jeter arbitration. Are you afraid the arbitrator will make you pay him $20 million for next season? Are you afraid he’ll have the bounce back year we all know is coming? I believe you are. Because then you’ll really have to pay him. And the fact that you are telling Jeter to shop around and talk to other teams is disgusting. You’re only telling him that because he already declared he’s not leaving the Yankees, and you know other teams don’t want to be used to escalate his price. They know if they bid on Jeter, you’ll run up prices on players they want. You think you’re being smart, when you’re really just being sleazy.

Many have asked me how I think this would go if George was still around, and in his prime. I am almost 100% positive how it would go. George would say the Yankees made Jeter rich. He’d point out his short falls. And the fans (the real ones, not this current group of pansies) would push back against George. And then George would overpay Jeter, and remind him of it for the length of the contract. But it wouldn’t go on this long. And Jeter would get paid. The current Yankees’ management like to say they are businessmen without the emotion that George brought. But they are tossing the same unnecessary bombs, without the pay day after it. There will be no hug and private apology that George would have given. They push away their stars, and homegrown talent, to get big names who can’t perform in New York. And they don’t respect the players who help them keep their jobs.

My wish is that Jeter would say he’s had enough. I hope he’d take a one year deal elsewhere. Go to the Mets, or better yet, the Red Sox and break 3,000 hits there. Go to a team who will respect you, and fans who will appreciate you. Then see just how badly the Yankees and their fans want you back. Sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder. Sometimes you need time away to help make things clear. Because Derek, they don’t have a replacement for you. Not at shortstop, not as a leader, not as a Captain, and certainly not as a public relations ace. They need you just as much as they say you need them. And don’t you ever forget it.

Jose Canseco Living In a Garage; Gets Hired As Coach & Designated Hitter

Jose Canseco may want to think of writing a new book or do something extraordinary in order to get out of the current streak of bad luck that he has hit. When Canseco was in his prime, he would date models and drive some of the world's most expensive cars. Nowadays it seems like he can't even afford a nice home.

The former Major League slugger has reportedly been evicted from his home and is currently living in a friend's garage. This is all coming from the popular tabloid website, TMZ, that still seems to treat Jose Canseco like a celebrity. The website is stating that the former Yankee missed two months of rent at a rented home.

On his Twitter page, Jose Canseco confirmed the rumors and admits that ever since his controversial book "Juiced" hit shelves, it has been downhill. He goes as far as to call himself "the modern day frankenstein."

The steroid abuser decided to play the blame game and points to Major League Baseball as the source of all his problems. He believes that they have aimed at destroying his life and apparently they succeeded.

Canseco is not shy to express what is currently going on. He expresses his desire to cry, but at the same time he believes that living in a garage is not too bad.

He says that he doesn't mind being poor again since that is how he was raised. But the may not last long as he is back in baseball.

A Laredo Broncos Jose Canseco jersey as fans are ready to go and see the former Yankee in action again.

Do not fear. He is not back in the Major Leagues. Jose Canseco was just recently signed to a contract to become a designated hitter and a bench coach for the Laredo Broncos.

It is a short term contact that will only last the next two Laredo Bronco's homestand, according to the Associated Press.

Jose Melendez is currently serving as the Bronco's general manager and he issued a statement on the team's website on Jose Canseco's hiring. Melendez said, ""He felt baseball was over with. We're the ones who encouraged him to come back and return to the game of baseball and back to where his beloved fans can see him again."

Canseco was the mentor to many on steroid issues during his baseball career in the Majors, but now he will serve as a mentor to younger baseball players hoping to keep their dream alive of making it big.

The Bronco's are really excited about signing Jose Canseco that they even decided to state that his signing is the "biggest" in all of Independent League Baseball History.

Could this be a publicity stunt by Canseco to be on top of the world again? He was on a VH1 show a few years back and he could be looking for a comeback or a television show to make money again. Any type of spare change will be greatly appreciated by Canseco at this point.

Not A Bum For Acting: Reviewing Derek Jeter's Cameo In "The Other Guys"

"The Other Guys" opened in theaters this past Friday starring Will Farrell and Mark Wahlberg. But the comedy film starred a very popular New York figure in Derek Jeter.

The Yankees short-stop has been on Saturday Night Live and is engaged to actress Minka Kelly, so the acting potential is all around him. There was a lot of hype building up to his acting debut in a blockbuster, but he failed to disappoint.

Derek Jeter has won MVP awards for Major League Baseball's World Series and All-Star Game respectively. With his role as himself and as a bum, Jeter could add an Oscar to his set of awards.

In the film, Mark Wahlberg's cop character is called "The Yankee Clipper", because of an incident where he shoots Derek Jeter in the dugout steps before a World Series game. Derek Jeter is on the ground and fans believe that Wahlberg caused them a championship.

Jeter's funnier scene occurs years later when Wahlberg and Jeter meet at Nathan's in Coney Island. Jeter is dressed as a bum and is on the streets due to the shooting that occurred years prior. When Derek Jeter is dressed as a bum, the audience bursts into tears of laughter as now there is a comedic Jeter on the screen alongside a hilarious Will Farrell.

MTV recently revealed that Adam McKay, one of the film's leading producers, was surprised with how prepared Jeter was for his role. The filming occurred not too long after the World Series and many believed that the Yankee Captain would be partying it up, but instead he was ready for his next job with his lines prepared.

"The Other Guys" has the audience in tears even before the Derek Jeter scenes. It is a hilarious movie that draws just about the same praise and comedy glory of Will Farrell's "Step Brothers."

It is definitely a must-see flick this Summer and New York fans will gladly enjoy the acting of their very own Derek Jeter.

Breaking News: Derek Jeter Surpasses The Bambino On All-Time Hits List

The records keep on piling up for Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees. He entered the Yankees-Red Sox game on Sunday night tied with The Great Bambino, Babe Ruth, on the all-time career hits list. It came against a very familiar foe in the Boston Red Sox with Josh Beckett on the mound.

In the second inning, Derek Jeter walked up to the plate with great swagger like always. It seemed like there was no pressure on him, as he just lined a base hit up the middle of the field to simply surpass Babe Ruth. Not only did he add himself to a greater place in the record books, but he helped the Yankees get out in front.

On Jeter's second inning hit, Brett Gardner was able to score and the Yankees increased their lead on Boston to 2-0.

Down goes Lou Gehrig and down goes Babe Ruth! Derek Jeter is now within 126 hits of 3,000. It's not like he needs that to get into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, because with five World Series Championships and more than 2,500 hits, you are a lock in anyone's book.

Bombers' Banter predicts that Derek Jeter will pass that milestone in 2011 as a New York Yankee. He will not sign elsewhere and will accomplish that feat in his familiar pinstriped uniform.

Alex goes down. No, not on me.

There was a very scary moment during today's Yankee ~~marathon~~ game. During his last at bat of the game, Alex Rodriguez was hit in the hand by Kansas City Royal's pitcher Blake Wood, now known in Yankeeland as "that asshole I will brutally murder if Arod is hurt." Turns out it is just a scuffed up hand but it was looking alot worse as Alex lay on the floor for several minutes. Thank goodness he is ok because I was booking my flight to Kansas City for an ass whooping, but then I realized what happened the last time I went to Kansas City....me, tequila and a small town....

Ok I made that up. I've never been to Kansas City.

Number 600 was not reached today either, which was Alex's last chance before the Yankee's road trip. Why do I feel like we wont see it until the next homestand...won't that be a major turnoff for the brass if he does it away? Just sayin...

On a brighter note, Robinson Cano got his 1,000th career hit today. Congrats my Dominican friend! Here's looking to 2,000!

Now, don't take this the wrong way people, I adore Kim Jones and think she does a great job but.......I was watching the post game today and could not help but notice that Kimberly Jones looked like she got dragged through a gutter. Who the hell is in charge of the way she looks on the TV??? And that hair....it was like a cotton ball due to the humidity and she had to pull it back while interviewing the players. Honey, with the right stylist, hair and makeup person you could be a smash! Your look is making you look alot older than I'm sure you are. This is the New York Yankees, classy, clean and alluring. That's what you should exude as well. My mother has a salon in midtown, EMAIL ME.

Yankees' Jon Weber Retires After Never Playing In The Majors

More sad news arrives for the New York Yankees as fans will never be able to see Jon Weber don the Yankee pinstripes at Yankee Stadium. This comes after the sad news of the passing of George Steinbrenner and Bob Sheppard.

Weber was at the center of the Yankee Spring Training story-lines as fans were hoping this man's journey have a happy ending. He was arrived to the Yankees camp at 5'10", 190 pounds, and with hopes as high as Mount Everest. He donned the No. 79 for the Yankees, but his odds of even making the team on Opening Day were higher than that.

At one point during Spring Training, fans were cheering this old rookie on as he was leading the team in batting average. Fantasy baseball freaks were still not excited at all by these numbers, because what it came down to was that Weber was a journeyman in the minor leagues.

He spent 11 years in the minor leagues with teams from the Toledo Mudhens to the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees. This Yankee stint could have put the final touches on his career and finally found him a home in the major leagues.

That unfortunately will not come to be as Jon Weber has decided to walk off into the sunset and call it quits. Weber played for the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees for the first two months of the season and has since come to the decision of retirement. This is the latest according to the SWB Yankees Blog and Donnie Collins on Twitter.

Sad to say, Bleacher Creatures and Modell's will not be stocking high on their "Weber 79" jerseys.

Yankee Hottie and the New York Yankee fans wish Weber the best of luck on his future endeavors.

Yesterday I was stunned as I got to work and started receiving text messages stating George Steinbrenner died. I didn't get sad right away, it just had me reflecting on everything he did for baseball. I always respected George for being the great business mind he was. As controversial as he was he sill did great things for the game of baseball and created the blueprint for other owners to follow.

We Will Never Forget "The Boss"

Rest In Peace to the Greatest Owner Who Ever Lived. George Michael Steinbrenner III passed away today at the age of 80 due to a massive heart attack. It had to be massive, otherwise it wouldn’t have been enough to take down the larger-than-life Steinbrenner. There is no man who wanted to win more. There is no one who could outwork the Boss. There is no one who could put in the time and effort that George put in to win. There is no one who could match his philantrophy. George M. Steinbrenner III was truly one of a kind.

There is so much more to George M. Steinbrenner III than just the being the uber-successful Yankees owner. George was a man with a heart bigger than his legendary temper. If you were ringing up The Boss’s groceries and explained to him you were working your way through college, there’s a chance you would get a phone call from an aid that George was giving you a scholarship. George was extremely loyal to his friends, even if their relationships were rocky. He didn’t speak to a friend for 6 years, and then hired him on as a baseball scout when he learned the man was falling on hard times. Nevermind that he had no knowledge of baseball, he knew his friend needed help.

George built hospital wings, founded multiple charities, and never a met a good cause that he didn’t give to. But George was also an amazing businessman. The New York Yankees would not be the team that they are today had it not been for George. He built the team back up from scratch. When George bought the Yankees, they were an absolute disaster and a team that had a very bleak future. But that was before George got his hands on the franchise. The future was now looking a hell of a lot brighter.

George turned a franchise that he bought for $8.7 million into the $1.5 Billion entity that they are today. George was the first owner to explore and build his own television channel for his team. The founding of YES enabled George to spend more money to build the Yankees into champions. The Boss is the reason that baseball players make as much money as they do. He also built up the rest of the league and improved the product of baseball.

How many teams now own their own television channels? How many teams remain solvent and, even competitive, because of the luxury tax paid by the Yankees? How many teams were bought by owners who saw how Steinbrenner ran the Yankees and wanted to beat him? How many stadiums sell out when the Yankees come to town? How many owners found new passion for their teams when seeing that George was taking over baseball? There is no doubt that baseball is infinitely better off because of George Steinbrenner.

George’s reach extended way beyond baseball. Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, says that The Boss’s energy, charisma, and drive inspired him to become an owner. Jerry says that the way he runs his franchise, is extremely based on Steinbrenner. “His enthusiasm and passion was often confused with his will of winning. Nothing was beyond an effort on his part to win.” “I have a file that is filled with George Steinbrenner notes and they are very timely. They came, more often than not, during low times when I was getting my tail kicked. He would remind me of times that he had adverse things.” Would we have such passionate and enigmatic owners throughout sports if it wasn’t for George M. Steinbrenner III?

Did George have his faults? Of course. And they are well documented. He was unbearable to work for. He demanded absolute perfection and nothing less. He would embarrass, belittle, scream at you, and ultimately fire for you for some very minor infractions. He would make rash decisions that weren’t the right ones. He would fire managers over a regular season loss in game 76 of the season just because of a dumb pitching switch. He let his passion for winning go over the top at times, and let it blind him from making rational decisions. But every man has his faults, and he wouldn’t be the legend he is had it not been for all aspects of his personality.

Yankees fans were treated to 38 seasons with George Steinbrenner as our owner. He went throgugh 22 managerial changes. But the Yankees won 3,364 games over the years with a winning percentage of .566, the most in baseball. The Yankees made the postseason 19 times, winning 11 pennants, and 16 division titles. And how can any of us ever forget the 7 World Series titles? George M. Steinbrenner III was the best thing that ever happened to the New York Yankees. He will truly be missed.

There is no doubt in my mind that George is telling God how to run things better in Heaven right now. Hell, he might even fire Jesus before the day is through. I hope he is at peace, and he knows just how much he has given us while he was here. Life will not be the same with The Boss.

As a Yankees fan, I can only say thank you. No words will ever be able to express the gratitude that all sports fans have for you, George. We will be forever indebted to you, we will always love you, and above all else we will never forget you. I say this with tears in my eyes, Thank You Mr. Steinbrenner. And May You Rest In Peace

A Prayer for The Boss: George Steinbrenner Dies From Massive Heart Attack

The New York Yankees owner, George Steinbrenner III, was rushed to the hospital in Florida. This is the latest from New York's ABC affiliate, Eyewitness News, whom was the first to report that the Yankees owner was rushed to St. Joseph's hospital.

The Boss' condition is still unknown and the entire Yankees Universe is praying that he is recovering well. The man is 80 years old, but he remains young in the hearts and minds of all Yankee fans that had a chance to see him run the team to several championships.

There have been reports that he has stepped down from baseball operations a bit since 2006, but in recent interviews, Randy Levine and Brian Cashman have said that he is still active with the team. He may not be the same prominent, big, and imposing figure, but George Steinbrenner will forever be The Boss.

People like Bald Vinny and Yankees beat writer, Bryan Hoch, have all expressed their concern for the Boss' health. Prayers are being said everywhere for Steinbrenner as Yankee fans hope that this will not be the darkest month in Yankees history.

The family lost Bob Sheppard earlier in the week and the Yankee family does not want to lose yet another big member of the family.

There will never be another George Steinbrenner in baseball or any other sport. This man did everything with whatever he had. Steinbrenner was given a talent by God to build a great team and he did it in a matter of years with the Yankees.

Not Getting Cliff Lee Was A Blessing In Disguise

I know many Yankees fans are not happy tonight, knowing that Cliff Lee slipped through New York's fingers to go to the Texas Rangers. But I am thrilled. I don't believe Cliff Lee would have been a good addition for the Yankees. If they landed Cliff Lee, the next move they would have made would be to send Javy Vazquez to the Phillies for Jayson Werth. That would have been disastrous.

Javy Vazquez is on fire and seems to be hitting his stride for the Bronx Bombers. I am not Cliff Lee's biggest fan and I actually would prefer to have Javy. Cliff Lee showed that he has no heart last year when he refused to pitch on 3 days rest for the Philadelphia Phillies in their attempt to win a World Series title. Cliff is clearly one of the best pitchers in the majors, but would he be able to pitch in New York?

I am a fan of the old adage, if it ain't broke don't fix it. The Yanks currently have the best record in baseball and show no signs of slowing down. Cliff Lee wouldn't be facing the weaker lineups of the AL West or the NL East of last year, the AL East is a different world. For some reason, I don't trust Lee. When the Yankees rotation is running as smooth as they are, there is no need to screw it up.

The other big problem with the trade would be the arrival of Jayson Werth. If the Yankees added Werth, I have the feeling it would lead to less playing time for Gardner. I know the Yankees brass would try and rotate days off for the outfielders, but it's not necessary. Swisher is an all-star, Gardner has all-star caliber numbers, and Granderson had plenty of rest when he was injured. Adding Werth creates a daily lineup problem for Girardi and could potentially knock the players out of the groove they are currently in.

Feel free to completely disagree with me, but I'd actually rather have Vazquez and an everyday outfield of Swisher, Gardner, and Granderson versus Cliff Lee and a rotating outfield with too many players and not enough starting spots.

The frenzy to 600

Last night Alex Rodriguez hit homers number 596 and 597, leaving him just 3 away from the historic 600. The Yankees are currently on a west coast road trip and have 5 games left. Does he break the record on the road? Does he do it at home, and if so in how many games?

I say you bet your ass he waits till he's home. I will even make a bigger assumption that he's been told to wait till he gets home. Lets face it, the Yankees are all about money and part of giving him such a ginormous contract was to reap the benefits of the records he is bound to break and the money that will bring in.

I remember last season when Derek Jeter was going to break the Yankee all time hit record everyone wanted to be at that game (I was!) and was scrambling for tickets. So I wonder how ticket sales and crowds will be for this.

Will you be looking to attend the game number 600 gets A bombed? Do you think it will happen at home?

West Coast road trip (part 2)

I am back safe and sound from my Yankees road-trip. Shocked? I know me too.

On the second leg of the trip we hit up Las Vegas for a night and then it was off to LA to see the Dodger series. The drive from Arizona to Vegas was about 5 and a half hours. Pretty much what I expected. The drive is really nice for us New Yorkers since we don't get to see much desert or mountains out here LOL. We did pass the Hoover Dam which according to Matt was "the most underwhelming thing he has ever seen in his life." HA! I must admit that I have to agree...its pretty lame.

Once in Vegas we stayed at Planet Hollywood. Nice hotel, great casino. Me and Matt had a great steak dinner at the Striphouse. Well actually Matt did, that evening I decided to stay vegetarian (don't know why considering I ate In N Out twice as well as a Carny's chilli dog AND a Dodger dog.) so I had lobster linguine. Delish.
A friend of mine from New York was also in Vegas so I met him for some drinks over at Voodoo in the Rio Hotel. Good times.

The next morning we were back at it driving to Cali but before we left Vegas we had to make a stop. In N Out burger. Oh. My. God. That was probably the best burger I ever had. Thank goodness they don't have them on the east coast because I would be ginormous!

We stayed in Burbank, California. Only about 15 minutes from dodger stadium but lets make it an hour with LA/Stadium traffic. Sheesh. The first night we went out to Hollywood to a sports bar called Dillon's. Awesome sports bar. Great food, great service AND $3 draft beer!! ANY beer! How can you beat that? We watched the Yankees take that game to a spatter of boos from the dodger fans inside. SUCK ITTTTT!

The next day we went to Dodger Stadium. Kudos to the ample parking situation. Boos to the "only admission to the section your ticket is in" crap. I get excited to explore new stadiums so I was bummed about this. I dont think that there is much to see however besides "Mannywood." HAAAA Mannywood. I love it.

Tried a dodger dog. Gross. Salty as all hell. Blech. No Bueno. Speaking of no bueno, let me tell you something about Dodger fans. They are beyond brutal. I will gladly walk into Fenway with a Yankee jersey on before I dealt with those losers again. What a classless group of individuals. Just because you are from NY does not mean you are down with the Jersey Shore behavior, nor do I like to be called Snooki. Yankee fans could not even get up for a beer without getting booed to no end. One guy told me he hoped I got diarrhea. Can you imagine? I'm an offensive person at times and I would never say that too someone even joking. LOL. Just awful. Oh and if you got up and said something back you were immediately thrown out by security. Bitches. I am so happy that the Yanks came back and won that last game against them to shut those jerk offs up. DODGER FANS BLOW.

Before I left Cali I did manage to squeeze in a photoshoot with my friend Rene Segura, photog extraordinaire. I should have the finished photos in a few weeks, I can't wait for you to see them. They are hottness!! Speaking of pictures I will post the ones from the trip as soon as I have em. Matt is too busy fist pumping down the shore right now too get them too me this Holiday weekend.

I'm watching the game right now and it looks like good AJ is on the mound today. ABOUT TIME BURNETT! I was going to start ripping my hair out.

Yankees @ Dbacks series

Greetings from Scottsdale!

We arrived here on Monday at noon to 105 degrees but I didn't give a shit because i just wanted to sip on something pretty by a pool. We are staying at hotel Valley Ho located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Valley Ho is a really cool retro hotel that was built in 1956. Very 50's Hollywood glamour which I adore. The rooms come complete with mood lighting and martini station. The pool here is straight out of a movie (which I believe there has been a number of them shot here), I could see Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack having a fabulous time here. I hear on Saturdays there is a crazy pool party that fetches close to 400 people...kinda bummed I will miss it but I am sure I will make my way back to the Valley Ho. I highly recommend it if you plan on visiting the Scottsdale area.

This is my first time to Arizona and was not quite sure what to expect besides the heat. Scottsdale is a beautiful area. Very clean and quiet and lots of fun little places to go. For some slammin authentic Mexican food I recommend Frank and Lupe's. I am still thinking about their shrimp enchiladas! So tasty. On a scale from 1 to 10 on Yankee Hotness scale they get an 8. I also checked out the Fashion Square Mall which is more of an upscale mall with stores that include Gucci and Louis Vuitton but also offers stores such as H&M and Forever 21. If hungry while shopping check out Kona Grill and try the avocado egg rolls. Delish.

Enough about all that though, lets get to the baseball stuff!

Chase field is very blah blah BLAHHHH. For a newer stadium I was really disappointed. I realize we are talking about the Diamondbacks but can y'all at least offer some better food choices than Panda Express and foot long bratwurst? Yes I said bratwurst and it smells awful! Blech. The stadium has a roof which makes it feel like a tin can and makes cell phone use impossible. No bueno. Stadiums like this make me even more grateful for our very sweet Yankee Stadium :)

I attended the Tuesday and Wednesday games, both of which we won. Yay!!!! Mariano made me sweat once again but it made the win that much sweeter, I actually have to say that it was the most entertaining game I have attended this season. Both The rays and Red Sox lost this evening making the Yankees 2.5 games ahead for first place.

I had so much fun here in Scottsdale and wish I had more time to check out the hot spots but I gotta keep it moving. Next stop Vegas!!!! The drive from here is about 5 hours I believe so time for me to get some rest. Expect a next post by Friday morning before I head out to LA for the Dodger series.

Ooooh lookie here an update

Hi kids!

Once again I find myself terribly busy with work and life to update as much as I like. :( I can't even tell you when the last time I sat and watched a game in its entirety. If your looking for some real sports betting action click here.. LOL But I have been keeping track thanks to my fellow bloggers and the Yankees app on my blackberry. why is that we lose to all the shitty teams and beat the good ones? i still have alot of faith in the Yankees but as soon as July approaches I will be a nervous wreck! hahah.

I will be at the game this Sunday as well as the following Friday for the game vs the Mets (I want revenge!!!).

In two weeks I will FINALLY be on vacation! And that vacation happens to be following the Yankees on their west coast road trip! I will be in Arizona for he diamondbacks series then off to LA to see the Dodger series, should be a great time and I will be updating this blog everyday of the trip. I wonder what kind of trouble I could get into in LA? lol

Anyone have any suggestions of what to do and where to go in Arizona/LA? Let me know!!

My day with the Mutts.

Yesterday was my first time at Citi Field, home of the Mets. I was invited by my friend Willie who is a huge Mets fan. I knew it was going to be a good time no matter what and I was really excited to check out the ballpark.

The game started at 8, however the tailgate started at 3. Willie and his friends were already set up and ready to go when I arrived. I must say that these boys came prepared for a tailgate! Tons of beer, a grill for the mussels, spare ribs, sausage and peppers and steak AND wiffle balls and bats for a game of ball. Yes, all that food and it was all delicious and gone. I have not played wiffle ball in years so I was so happy to play. I clearly need to work on my hitting skills though, ending the game without a hit. Shameful. I see a trip to the batting cages in my future. Only downfall to this this is that there is no porta potty in the park we were in. Yeah. Beer and no potty don't mix. Ladies and gents, I peed in a bush, just figured I would share that with you. I know your turned on now.

After the game, food and booze we headed to the park. From the outside Citi Field is immediately pleasing to the eye. I love all the brick work. Inside the stadium is very open, almost feeling like an outdoor mall. No matter where you are you can see the field. There is a ton of concessions offering food and beer (hot dogs seem to be in major abundance), but most importantly, a Shake Shack. Whoever thought of bringing Shake Shack in there was a genius. Our seats we're very high up, like section 520, second row from the top high. Oddly enough I didn't have an anxiety attack. Is Yankee stadium higher than Citi? Because in Yankee stadium I would have never been able to sit there for more than 2 minutes. Anyway, I love me a subway series with crazy Mets fans and Yankee fans. I did have to endure Willie taking his Yankee fan hate out on victims as I had to sit with my mouth shut, even prompting one Yankee fan to turn around and say "I'm only 17." haha Shame on you Willie! Hey I'll let everyone have their fun, their Mets fans, they don't get much to cheer about!

Even MORE genius then Shake Shack is that there is a McFaddens inside. By the 8th inning I was in McFaddens because I desperately needed to continue drinking after the Yankees embarrassed themselves. Sexy bartenders in skimpy sports gear dancing on the bar inside of a ballpark? What more do you need? That place must clean up...CASH ONLY! Smart people in there. Overall I really enjoyed my time at Citi Field and would definitely go back to catch a game. Thank you to Willie for the invite, I'm going to brush up on my wiffle ball skills!

And since the Mets beat the Yankees...

Don't throw rocks at me when you see me please.

Why do I feel like we are back to figuring out a rotation???! I knew Vasquez was going to suck balls and now we have to revert to the bullpen for a 5th starter.....I do not like losing 2 in a row. Yes I'm a spoiled Yankees fan.

The AJ saga continues.

Well "bad" AJ Burnett made his first appearance in tonight's game against the Red Sux. I'm never going to figure this dude out but as long as I see "good" AJ more than the bad I'm ok. Something about Fenway has him shook. Effin Fenway.

This game is a wash as I type this and we are down to our last 2 outs of the game. Not even my rally bra could do anything! I'll take 2 out of # though.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's day! My day however was spent in bed with PF Changs as my mother pushed our mother daughter time until tomorrow....I think I will cook for her tomorrow. Maybe I will go with the coconut shrimp she loves.

New Yankee Crush Alert::

Francisco Cervelli.

I had the pleasure of going to tonight's game and watch this man rock it. I have always enjoyed Cervelli because he plays with such heart and energy. I love to watch a player get excited and go all in for the game as he surely does.

Francisco went 3 for 3 tonight and made a sparkling play to catch a popped up foul ball, falling into the dugout (very Jeterarian)- I was standing in section 120 for that catch and saw it good and close.

I'm also starting to buy into this AJ-Cervelli -pitcher-catcher thing. Numbers don't lie and AJ's numbers with Francisco behind the plate are way better than his numbers with Posada. I'm ready to start an online petition y'all!

All the above statements make Francisco Cervelli my Yankee crush of the week. We all know this changes quite often, lol.

I think its a good move not to pitch this dude against the Red Sox. I mean what else are the Yankees going to do at this moment? The Red Sox are playing terrible and if they get a win on us because of this sucky McSucky the fans will be livid.

Triple plays and bitch fits.

So like a dumb dumb I didn't realize today was day game and missed most of the game! West coast road trips screw me all up.

The Yankees lost today but I don't really care because we have won every series so far, I'm not going to cry about one loss. The story of the game however was the Yankees making their first triple play since 1968. Pretty impressive. Is that promotion still going on where you get something free if the Yankees make a triple play? What was that? Shit. Can't remember.

The other story of the game was Dallas Braden flipping out on Alex Rodriguez for running over the pitchers mound at some point. Dallas Braden threw a bitch fit in the dugout as well. When asked after the game about what happened, Braden said "if it happens again there will be repercussions." Are you serious Dallas? You will get bitch slapped like the bitch you acted like today. Alex don't have time for people like you. You are not even on the radar. Don't get cute because you got yourself a win today buddy.

When the media asked A Rod about it, Alex (who was looking very GQ today I must say)just kind of laughed it off. "Such a shame for a guy who has so many wins." "I honestly didn't know what he was talking about and that he was talking to me." Alex is a funny dude. I don't doubt that he ran over the mound, but unless he started kicking the dirt or doing something to screw it up to affect the pitcher I don't see the big deal. Curious to see how this pans out.

Noticable changes at Yankee Stadium (to a real fan)

I've noticed some significant changes as far as food options go at Yankee Stadium. It looks like some places didn't make the cut from last season.

The first thing I noticed was that there is no longer "Mikes Arthur Avenue Italian Deli"- which does not shock me being that for $12.00 dollars I expect a big hero and not something the size of mom's grilled cheese. In it's place is something called "Pizza Fritta". I was all excited walking over thinking it would be something like a pizza pocket, but no, its a desert. It tastes like a churro and its stupid. I don't expect it to be there next season or even half way through this season.

The Boars Head deli that was in the food court has now been replaced by a frozen drinks stand. Laugh now, but come the warm weather I bet you see alot of daiquiris around the stadium!

La Esquina Latina is gone. Which @Matt_Harris will tell you is a dream come true. He has never gotten over their horrible job of wrapping burritos. In its place is an NYY Steak express. Basically more steak is now available to you in the form of a sandwich. $15.00 gets you steak on a wEck. I don't eat much meat but I may have to give in to finally review this sandwich and Lobels steak sandwich. I have however eaten at the the actual NYY Steakhouse and had the surf and turf which was simply SCRUMPTIOUS!

There is now a Yankee Women's apparel store on the field level. Last season it was a space selling Yankee fine art. I LOVE THIS! Its about time, haha. And I must admit that the ladies gear is really cute and fun. I will be hitting it up on my next visit.

Things that have not changed:

There is still no orange slices served at The Beers of The World outpost!!! For $11.00 a beer I want a fresh orange slice with my Blue Moon dammit! Last game me and Melissa brought our own in a ziplock!

Customer service: I am all for hiring senior citizens and handicapped people but what is the excuse for the rest of the people working at Yankee Stadium? If you are going to hire people to pour beer on tap they should be at the very least taught how too. Sheesh.

That's all I have noticed so far...I will do further inspection on my next visit and maybe even have a steak :)

I've got two games in the bag this season...

Not that the Yankees need me to be a good luck charm right now, they have been on a roll winning their first four series. Pitching, offense and defense have all been clicking (except whatshisface, Javier something?). The Yankees are by far and away the best team in the AL. The scary part is that everyone is not even warmed up yet (Mark Teixiera and Nick Swisher for example.). Once everyone is up and running its going to be INSANE!

I went to the stadium for the home opener and last Saturday. The home opener was great. Watching the Yankee's receive their World Series rings was really special. The fact that Hideki Matsui was on hand as well was fabulous. I have to admit that I got a little misty eyed watching he boys jump on him and exchange hugs after he received his ring. Every time Matsui came to bat he received grand cheers from the Yankee Stadium crowd. People can say alot of things about Yankee fans but they have to admit, we give credit where credit is due.

On Saturday I went to he game with my best friend Melissa. Some Yankeehottie faithful know her as "that blonde chick with the bombs.". We had seats way in the upperdeck so we spent the day walking around. Anyone who knows me knows I WILL NOT sit in the upperdeck due to sheer anxiety. I just can't get comfortable up there I start to feel paralyzed to my seat. Some call this me being spoiled. Whatever it is, it sucks. So me and Melissa made our rounds and walked over to the Beers of The World outpost in center field for our Blue Moons. As we walked past Mohegan Sun Bar we were asked by a manager if we wanted to come in. "Yes!" was obviously the answer. I think they were just trying to fill the place up a bit with really good looking people ;) Made some cool friends in there and then watched the rest of the game outside in standing areas...that's what I love about the stadium, you can have a great time even if you don't have a seat.

After the game we headed across the street to Billy's. I swear that place is the Jersey Shore of River Avenue. Except everyone in Yankee gear. I'm no going to lie, I found myself getting shitty in Billy's and acing a fool....full out dancing in there. How could you not?! Alcohol, thumping sound system and drunk Yankee fans. All the ingredients for a good time right? Even though I feel a bit trashy everytime I walk out of there. I try to keep my Billy's trips to a minimum. lol All in all me and Melissa had a fantastic time.

It felt good going to the Stadium, kinda of like going home :) If you ever see me at a game feel free to say hello, some of you say you see me pass you but don't say anything! I am crazy but I don't bite. Unless you want me too ;) My next game is April 3oth....be on the look out!

Joe West is Cranky

Joe West had some choice words for the Yankees and Red Sux yesterday. He complained to the Bergen Record that the games take too long.

"They're the two clubs that don't try to pick up the pace," said West, chief of the umpiring crew that worked the three-game series in Boston. He was the home plate umpire Sunday. "They're two of the best teams in baseball. Why are they playing the slowest?

"It's pathetic and embarrassing. They take too long to play."

While it is true that the rivals games do take longer than usual it is not Joe's place to say any of the above comments to a newspaper. Its the YANKEES VS REDSOX! Its always going to take longer, whether they design it that way for advertising etc. or the games really matter to both teams so they take their time as too not screw up, he is getting paid to do a job.

I don't get what he's so upset about. I guess he missed a hot dog eating contest or something judging by the looks of him.

Just concentrate on making the right calls Mr.West....perfect that then we will work on the game time. Deal?

Yankees win first series vs Red Sux.

A far cry from the first game of this series, where the Yankees seemed to be the ones who sucked, the Yankees got it together to take down the Boston Red Sox.

Pitching from both sides was stellar for this series. CC, AJ and Pettite were all good enough to get the job done with help from offense. Even Chan Ho Park was good enough last night to be used for 3 innings of relief last, the first game however, I could smell him stinking up the park from here. It was refreshing to see because in true Yankee fan fashion I was ready to write him off after one game.

In game 2 Joba was brought in for the eighth inning and was reminiscent of 2007 Joba Chamberlain. We even got treated to a fist pump! He didn't reach 98 mph in his velocity (nor do I believe he ever will again). We have seen flashes of his brilliance before. I can't be ready to think it will last. Everyone one is like "oh that's it, he's our eight inning guy." I don't think we can say that yet, he still needs to prove that he's not a head case and show that he can be consistent. Don't be surprised if you still see Joe Girardi toying with the bull pen for the next series or two.

Last night's win was made even sweeter because Curtis Granderson hit the winning homerun off of everyone favorite closer......Papelbon! Ha. I so enjoyed watching his eyes follow that ball out of the park. Suck it Papeldouche.

The Yankees have an off day today which bums me out but not so much since I will be working this evening and would have missed it. Another beautiful day outside today. Get out and enjoy it!

I can't believe we are just a couple of days away from Yankees baseball. I know this is going to sound dramatic but I feel more alive during baseball season....something to cheer for ya know? I know you know!

I'm very excited for Sunday because I finally get a day to relax, I work 6 days a week so there isnt much room for relaxation. I'm going to spend Sunday at my mom's house with my roomate and some friends. My roomate says she's making Tostadas. Can't wait to see this! I'm not sure yet what I'm going to make yet....I might just make something light like a salad or something LOL...ooooooh and guacamole. There must be guacamole!!! Its Mexican Easter y'all! I may need to pick up some booze for some "Yankee Hotties" but I'm leaning more towards making it a Blue Moon day. Nothing better than a Blue Moon with a fresh orange slice. Yum. I really want an Easter basket, like, seriously. If anyone out there in Yankee land makes this happen I will be eternally grateful!!

I just watched Nick Johnson foul a ball of his knee, that looked terribly painful. Hope the big guy is alright. Did that chub rock lose some weight? He was looking a little more svelte today.

Oh man, its almost here! On Sunday the Yankees baseball season officially commences and what better way than to do it against the Boston Red Sox? This is going to be a lovely Easter I must say :) If they win, perfect Easter. CC vs Beckett! Lets get it!!

Went to a tattoo convention in Philly this weekend. I had so much fun and got tat number 10. Yes, 10! I can't believe I have that many. I got "Make Yourself" tattooed on the center of my upper back. Why? Because society should not make you, only you can and screw the ones who don't like it. Also, its my favorite Incubus song...check out the lyrics when you get a chance, they are awesome.

Joba is a hot mess Updated

Unless you have been living under a rock you know that there has been a competition for the 5th starter spot.

Since before Spring training even began all eyes were on Phil Hughes and on Joba Chamberlain as the main contenders for the spot. But after a series of disappointing outings it seems Phil Hughes will be the one to get the 5th starter spot. Putting Joba back in the bullpen.

This thrills me to no end. Not just because he seems to be turning out to be a fluke, but also because of his lame ass excuses...

Last season he was always spouting all this crap when asked after the games how he felt he did, and he never took responsibility. He always said something like "I know the numbers were not that good but I also did alot of things right....I think I pitched well." Oh shut up. You sucked and thats that. I hope he gets his ass to the gym and can make it through the 2 innings that will be asked of him.

Clearly my romance with Joba is over............for now.

**Update** Here's a nice opposing view from my friends at Bronx Baseball Daily:
If you’re a fan who only looks at the stats and doesn’t follow exactly what is happening I know your probably saying “ouch”, but lets not throwChamberlain in single A just yet. His velocity looks good considering it is so early and not perfect conditions for a power arm (Sabathia has an ERA over 8.00) plus it is still only spring. The concern is he is fighting for a spot in the rotation and his numbers don’t reflect a guy who has been given a huge opportunity. He pitched against Yankee hitters in an intrasquad game on 3/22 going 5 IP allowing 2 ER.

My overall outlook is this is still a two man race between Hughes and Chamberlain, and has been the whole time, but don’t let the numbers fool you. I still get the gut feeling the Yankees will start the season with Joba in the starting rotation and then they will take it from there. They have put a lot of time into making Joba a starter, and putting him in the bullpen now would just be a huge setback. I am not against having one of them in the starting rotation then putting one in AAA since I see them both as starters in the long run, but I’d rather them both see major league batters. The sooner a decision the better so neither guy gets led on, and that way you fans will not have to read us bloggers discuss this issue ever again!

Just wanted to see what you all thought about the happenings in Spring Training so far. Yes I am aware "that its JUST spring training" but so far I am not AT ALL impressed with anything except Nick Johnson and his power. What do you think?

Yankee tickets went on sale today and yet nobody can get the tickets they want. SHOCKER! Ha. Gosh I hate Ticketmaster. I dont even bother anymore, I just buy them from people I know or go to Stubhub.

My first game so far will be April 17th. If your going hit me up!

Look at this golden man. How I have missed his perfect tan, those purple lips and that ass that looks like two scoops of.....Oh my, I'm sorry, my fingers wander when my mind does.

Alex was interviewed at camp today and the focus was what a difference a year makes. This time last year Alex was coming clean about his steroid use and starting his 2009 embarrassed. Of course the season ended with a championship and clutch season for Alex. What better way too take focus off of a scandal?

I like Alex as a player and have always stuck by him, but I can't help but keep thinking that he's the one that's going to get away with it. Alot of players have been exposed to have used steroids and watched their shine and career go down the toilet but Alex is seemingly avoiding this. What do you guys think? The Yankees limited their free agent spending this offseason, making only two major moves in Pettitte and Johnson. They kept both to one-year commitments. The quest for #28 begins...

I can't believe the last time I posted was January 6th! Shame on me!

So here we are again....pitchers and catchers reported today which marks the beginning of spring training for the Yankees, as well as excitement for us Yankee fans. Fans will be seeing some new faces and missing some old ones. One of the reasons I have not updated in a while is that I really could not form an opinion I could stick with about all the changes and decisions that were being made. But now I can...ready freddy? Ok here it is...

I will miss all the veteran and fan favorite players that will not be returning this season. However, fan favorites and aging players do not win championships every season. Especially when they are asking for contracts for years and inflated payrolls...even for the Yankees. I love Matsui but lets face it, every time he ran the bases or swung his bat last season I thought his knees were going to explode. Johnny is one of my all time favorites but to see him in left field for another 3 or even 2 years would be unbearable with his arm.

I think the Yankees have found a perfect balance of veterans and the faces of the future. After years of going either all veteran or all young stars they have finally found a comfy zone in the middle.....or so we will see.

A few weeks ago, in mid December, Phil Mushnick of The Post broke the news that David Cone may not return to the YES broadcast booth for the 2010 season. Today, Bob Klapisch’s sources tell him that Cone is a goner at YES. The former pitcher isn’t returning, reports Klapisch, “after a heated disagreement with network executives.”

Officially, YES says that Cone hasn’t reached a decision. A network spokesman told Klapisch, “David’s contract is up. We’d love to have him back, but he’s in the process of evaluating his various options.” It doesn’t, however, appear as though a return is likely. Three weeks ago, Mushnick speculated that Tino Martinez could be on the YES radar if Cone doesn’t return. For now, though, we just might be stuck with more John Flaherty.

I'm going to miss David and his party face, his drunkeness and slips of the tongue. Does this mean we are stuck with Flaherty? He's not much fun. He doesnt even have his dumb haircut anymore for me to make fun of. Shit.

1:41pm: Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News had even more quotes from Damon today. Damon noted that reports about his demands are hearsay, although he indicated he expects a multiyear deal.

10:42am: Talking to George King of the New York Post, free agent outfielder Johnny Damon said:

"I am going to start looking around. Teams are getting better and there are teams interested. I can’t wait forever and I am sure [the Yankees] are trying to figure things out. I have to be ready."

Joe Pawlikowski of River Ave. Blues breaks down the situation, explaining why he expects Damon to eventually re-sign on a two-year deal. Chances are no team in baseball will see Damon as a good three-year risk, especially at $10MM+ per year.

The Yankees and Andy reached a one year deal bringing him back to NY for one more season. This from ESPN.com :

INDIANAPOLIS -- Andy Pettitte asked himself all the important questions: Was he ready to prepare for another long year? Could he top last season? Was his family on board?

And then he decided -- rather quickly, too -- he indeed wanted to pitch again for the New York Yankees.

"I didn't want to regret not playing," he said.

Pettitte and the World Series champions agreed Wednesday on an $11.75 million, one-year contract. The deal represents a raise for the 37-year-old left-hander, who made $10.5 million last season and helped the Yankees win their 27th World Series title.

"I wanted to get this decision made," he said on a conference call. "It's nice to get it wrapped up."

Pettitte became the first pitcher to start and win the clincher in all three postseason rounds. After beating Minnesota and the Los Angeles Angels in the AL playoffs, he defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on three days' rest in the sixth and final game of the World Series, earning his fifth championship ring.

The year ended so well, it prompted Pettitte to wonder whether it was time to retire.

"There's no doubt it did," he said. "What else is there to do? Why even continue to play? Why would you go back? How could you finish any better?"

But, he just wasn't done. And with the backing of his wife and family, he had his agent call the Yankees during Thanksgiving weekend.

"Let's do it another year," Pettitte said.

Pettitte was 14-8 with a 4.16 ERA in 32 regular-season starts, and 4-0 with a 3.52 ERA in five postseason starts. His 18 postseason victories are a major league record.

A two-time All-Star, Pettitte pitched for the Yankees from 1995 to 2003, helping them win four World Series titles and six AL pennants, before spending three years with his hometown Houston Astros. He returned to New York in 2007 and admitted to using human growth hormone after the Mitchell report was released that December.

Pettitte had a $5.5 million base salary last season and earned $3 million in bonuses based on innings and $2 million for staying on the active roster the entire season. He missed $750,000 bonuses for 200 and 210 innings, finishing with 194 2/3.

New York originally offered him $10 million last December but cut the guaranteed amount after it agreed to big-money contracts with CC Sabathia, A.J. Burnett and Mark Teixeira.

Because the season lasted so long, Pettitte said he would consider pushing back his throwing program for two weeks. He usually starts around Jan. 1.

The move was the third of the winter meetings for the Yankees.

They got center fielder Curtis Granderson from Detroit as part of a three-team, seven-player deal that sent right-hander Ian Kennedy to Arizona, and lefty reliever Phil Coke and outfield prospect Austin Jackson to Detroit.

New York also dealt reliever Brian Bruney to Washington for a player to be named -- the first pick in Thursday's winter meeting draft.

Pettitte's return doesn't mean the Yankees will end their pursuit of Roy Halladay. A baseball official with knowledge of the Yankees' plans told 1050 ESPN New York's Andrew Marchand the team is "still in on it" in regards to Halladay

The World Series champions landed yet another All-Star, getting the speedy center fielder from Detroit in a three-team trade Wednesday that included Arizona.

Granderson has worn No. 28 for nearly his entire career. But Joe Girardi may well take it next season -- the manager might bump up one digit to show he's now focused on winning the Yankees' 28th title.

"Of course, he's the man," Granderson said on a conference call. "He's the one that makes everything go. He's going to definitely have first dibs on it and if he chooses to take it, hey, I'll step back."

A day after the three teams reached a tentative agreement on the seven-player swap, they checked all the medical records and completed the first major trade of the winter meetings.

Arizona acquired All-Star pitcher Edwin Jackson from Detroit and right-hander Ian Kennedy from the Yankees.

The Tigers came to Indianapolis looking to shed payroll and did exactly that -- they got lefty reliever Phil Coke and outfield prospect Austin Jackson from New York, plus touted young pitchers Max Scherzer and Daniel Schlereth from Arizona.

"The Granderson piece is something we're really happy about," Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said. "We're not a finished product. We have areas of need."

Granderson takes over for Melky Cabrera and Brett Gardner in center for the Yankees. Cashman said the trade doesn't necessarily preclude them from re-signing free agents Johnny Damon and Hideki Matsui, the World Series MVP.

"We're still fluid in our discussions," Cashman said.

At 28, Granderson was a first-time All-Star last season when he had 30 home runs, 71 RBIs and 20 steals. The lefty's batting average has fallen from .302 in 2007 to .280 in 2008 to .249 last year.

Granderson hit just .183 against left-handers and struck out 141 times overall. The Yankees plan to bat him second vs. righties and near the bottom of the lineup against lefties.

Anything is fine by him.

"It's a good change. Change has always been good," he said. "Everything is going to be a first again. I've got to go in and meet the clubhouse guys, got to meet new teammates, a new coaching staff. Where do I park? Where do I come in at?"

Tigers manger Jim Leyland gushed about Granderson earlier in the day.

"I think, in my opinion, Curtis Granderson is one of the things that's all good about baseball in today's baseball world. He is one heck of a player. He has a great face. He's very bright. He's very articulate. He's everything that's good about baseball," Leyland said. "He's the total package."

Detroit missed the playoffs after a late collapse and hoped to cut costs after a big attendance drop at Comerica Park. Granderson is owed $25.75 million through 2012.

"It was a business decision," Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski said. "We were in a position where we just need to, based upon our situation right now, make some adjustments."

The three teams began serious talks in the last month and the trade evolved. The Tigers started out by asking for two of the Yankees' prized pitchers, Phil Hughes and Joba Chamberlain.

Edwin Jackson, a 26-year-old righty who is eligible for salary arbitration, was 13-9 with a 3.62 ERA in 33 starts for the Tigers. He held opponents to a .247 batting average in 214 innings.

Kennedy, who turns 25 on Dec. 19, impressed when he came up from the minors at the end of the 2007 season, going 1-0 with a 1.89 ERA in three starts. He's been slowed by injuries the past two seasons.

Kennedy strained a muscle near his right ribcage and had bursitis in his right shoulder blade in 2008, when he was 0-4 with an 8.17 ERA. He pitched in only one big league game this year, when he was sidelined by surgery May 12 to remove an aneurysm from beneath his right biceps.

"We feel the addition of two starters will solidify our rotation," Arizona general manager Josh Byrnes said. "Edwin Jackson is a young All-Star who has continued to improve in recent years, and Ian Kennedy is a former first-rounder with a history of success and a tremendous feel for pitching."

Coke was 4-3 with a 4.50 ERA in 72 relief appearances. He gave up two runs in 1 1-3 innings in the World Series.

Austin Jackson, 22, was regarded as one of the Yankees' top prospects. He hit .300 last season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with 23 doubles, four homers, 65 RBIs and 24 steals.

Scherzer, the 11th overall pick in the 2006 amateur draft, is a 25-year-old righty who went 9-11 with a 4.12 ERA in 30 starts for Arizona last season, striking out 174 in 170 1-3 innings.

Schlereth, a 23-year-old lefty, was the 26th pick in the 2008 amateur draft. He made his major league debut this year and went 1-4 with a 5.89 ERA in 21 relief appearances with 22 strikeouts in 18 1-3 innings. He is the son of former NFL offensive lineman and current ESPN football analyst Mark Schlereth.

I like this move although I know some of you don't. Of course I am going to miss Phil Coke, you all know how much I wanted to sink my teeth into the young man! Good luck Phil, you have amazing potential.

Im still here....I've been here

Hi y'all,

So number 27 was pretty amazing to witness. I wish I could have blogged to you all how happy I was but I have been very busy helping out at the salon and bartending.

I was going to update after the parade with pictures from there but unfortunately shortly after I arrived I was given the news that a very, VERY close friend of mine had passed away. Needless to say I was out of there.

Life ever since that day has been chaos, lots of working, seeing friends new and old and lots of sleepless nights. Some days are good and some days can be very low. Thus I was not really into this blog, sports or much else. But I have been feeling better and working through things. I plan to continue with this blog and I thank all of my faithful Yankee fans who support this site.

Go Yankees CHAMPIONS OF BASEBALL!!! Vooooot Vooot!

I'm really in the mood for a Yankee parade y'all. Last time I went I cut school and got caught because my picture was in the NY Post the next day. I'll never forget, I had my hair pulled back and was wearing an oversized grey GAP fleece hoodie. You all had one, you know it. Good times growing up in NY :)

Just spoke to Brian Cashman, who said the Yankees doctors will be evaluating Melky Cabrera in the coming hours to determine the extent of Cabrera’s injury. It’s believed Cabrera could have suffered a full hamstring tear during Game 4, and according to MLB rules, the Yankees are allowed to petition for a roster change if they believe Cabrera won’t be able to play for the rest of the series. The player added would be “someone with the team here,” Cashman said, though he wouldn’t speculate on names.

That would seem to limit it to Francisco Cervelli, Freddy Guzman, Ramiro Pena and Sergio Mitre. If Brett Gardner starts, which is most likely, than Guzman could be added as the pinch-runner off the bench, though you could certainly make a case for Pena or, particularly tonight with Molina likely to start, Cervelli. We’ll update as we know more.

UPDATE, 12:30 p.m.: Chad here. I just checked with Gardner, but he hasn’t heard anything about Cabrera or about playing center field tonight. “Don’t know anything,” he said.

Ok so I went to the stadium the other day for the viewing of Game 3 at the Stadium. I gotta say it was pretty cool except whenever you give something for free, well you know. Not everyone there was a real Yankee fan, they just had nothing better to do. And the concession stands were not at all prepared, I got up to get a slice of pizza and they could not have the pizza ready fast enough, then people got ghetto with the ghetto behind the concessions and things were a little ugly LOL But for the most part it was great, people got into the game like it was happening right there, standing up for a strike 3 with 2 outs and such.....to bad we lost with that awesome Joe Girardi move. Ughhhh why take Dave Robertson out of the game Joe?? I was soooo pissed AND it was freeezing.

But on the bright side we got the win last night and destroyed the Angels which a couple of months ago seemed impossible for us. But this is a brand new team, brand new swagger and new attitude. How locked in is Alex Rodriguez? Whatever Kate Hudson is doing I'm all for it!!

You know we are winning this shit tomorrow and the World Series is just a minute away right my Yankee fiends?

Im going downtown tomorrow to watch the Yankees take it....if your out and about let me know ;)

Ninjas, errors and the bitter cold.

Last night the Yankees took a series lead over the Angels in the ALCS. CC Sabathia was dominant on the mound last night and the Yankees scored just enough runs to back him up. The Angels however, forgot they were in the playoffs and made several silly errors allowing the Yankees to score runs. Such as a pop up that "dropped in". I love how people make excuses for such things like "it was the wind". Shut your mouth, you just suck and you let that shit happen. Just saying...

Due to the low temperature we saw some Yankees sporting some extra clothing and accessories, but no one stuck out as much as "Ninja Cano". I personally am digging ninja Cano. I think Robbie likes it as well. Ninja Cano is here to stay! haha

Not everyone was as ok with the cold weather though...

Poor Kate....yeah right. I see Kate is back to blonde....I wonder why....hmmmm......

Did you guys see the post game stuff on YES after the game with Micheal Kay and David Cone? Kay always finds a way to discuss David and his drinking. Cone loves it. Apparently David was so wrapped up in a bar across from the stadium that he forgot he was throwing the first pitch and made it back to the stadium with 30 seconds to spare. Now THAT would have been classic. I still would like to know who is in charge of that man.

The saga continues tonight at Yankee Stadium for game 2 and AJ Burnett on the mound.

Hello all my fellow Yankee maniacs! Its been AGES!! My sincere apologies for not updating but my world has been insane as of late. I have a new roommate and have been working 2 jobs that has been leaving me with one day off a week. That day is usually spent in my bed sleeping and snoring. Half the time I can't even watch the games :(

On the bright side the Yankees are in the playoffs! Wooot wooooooot! Now its go time bitches...this is do or die time. I am MAKING time to watch these games and no one is going to stop me dammit! From what I hear and read the Yankees have been a little shaky. I like to think the Yanks are just slacking off to conserve there energy ;)

Its been so long that I didn't even get a chance to tell you guys that I was at the game that Derek Jeter broke the hits record. It was truly one of the best Yankee game moments I have ever experienced. That stadium went NUTS! However I got so drunk during the rain delay that it took all the energy I had and I proceeded to pass out on Matt's shoulder for 2 innings. LOL

Thank you all so much for checking out and supporting this blog throughout the season, I love chatting and meeting all of you...I will TRY my hardest to update on this blog for the post season madness. Next season things better be different. I'm 26, exhausted and ready to retire. How can we get rich? If you have an idea please tell me. Thanks!

Great but not perfect for dandy Andy.

How many times during yesterdays game did your heart stop? At least 6 times for me...

Andy Eugene Pettite was pitching a perfect game until the 7th inning. Making it more suspenseful (and jinx prone) was Michael Kay using the word "perfect" in every other sentence since the third inning. The man is just ridiculous in these situations.

The perfecto was blown when Hairston Jr. literally dropped the ball and let go right in between his legs. Between his legs! It was routine play! My heart just sank for Andy. I know, I know Hairston made an amazing play the inning before that most would not have made but with a perfect game on the line every player behind Andy should have been moving like that. I suppose its punishment enough that us Yankee fans will remember that error forever :) ha!

The main thing is that the Yankees won the game. Lets keep a good thing going boys!

I'll be somewhere in NYC watching the game this evening, so no twitter for me most likely. Enjoy the game bitches! xoxox

So how shittastic was yesterday's game?!

Two game killers: Unable to score with men on base. Phil Coke brought into a one run game. Why Girardi made that move is beyond me, its like Coke has to promptly give up a run in order to function. Remember the good ole days when Phil Coke was good and I wanted to make sweet love to him? Ah, I miss those days!

In other news, multiple media sources were reporting that Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly are engaged and planning a fall wedding. Gag me, ick. I don't like her for Derek. I'm sure shes a lovely girl but shes just so "blah". I know alot of guys that think shes hot but I just don't see it. To me shes cute and plain Jane. I envision Derek with someone who has a little more star quality. Don't get me wrong, I get that Derek prefers to fly under the radar with his personal life, I don't want him with some superstar but someone a little more interesting that's all. Ya know, someone more like myself ;)

I went to the game yesterday with Matt and my friend Annmarie. I love going to games with Yankee Stadium virgins. She had a blast and took lots of pics. Best heckle of the game was directed at Nelson Cruz- "I see you smiling Nelson, I will kill you." I almost pissed myself.

I finally had the balls to try the garlic fries. Never again. They were decent tasting but got me so sick! They sat in my stomach all day and all night. Blech!

I went to the movies last night so I missed the first few innings. When I did turn on the game I saw that our boy Gaudin held off the A's for 6 innings, sloppily done yes, but done. I'm not totally sold on him yet but its a step up from Sergio Mitre, that's for sure!

I went to see GI Joe last night. I must say that it was alot better than I expected, I thought the story line was very creative and the casting was spot on but too many action sequences happening at once. I still dont know what was happening underwater with all those missiles and shit at the end, ugh. Other than that it was enjoyable. PLUS, I know what my Halloween costume is going to be now!......

Any excuse to wear all that black and leather. Fierce! Now all I have to do is drop 50 pounds. HA!

The Yankees get a night off tonight and then head into Boston to take on the Red Sux. Can't wait!!!

If your in the city this evening I will be bartending at T.J. Whitneys on 53rd st. between 2nd and 3rd ave. Come in for a drink!

Best Week Ever!

So here I am back to reality, sick as a dog with a cough and a cold. But the cold is worth it for the week I had. Monday kicked off with a Yankee game in the bleachers, thanks to Paul, a reader of this blog, who had an extra ticket and reached out to me. I always have a blast in the bleachers because there are always some crazy characters sitting there fueled by beers. That day I was treated to a group of guys who were from upstate taking in the game. The Yankees were facing the Toronto Blue Jays so screaming "this is America" every 15 minutes was somehow appropriate. Also, handing beers to 16 year olds was also somehow ok. LOL We lost the game, but I was laughing and drunk on Blue Moons so it was all good in the hood with me.

Tuesday we hit up the game again, this time the bleachers seemed a little calmer and the game was a little boring so we decided to hit up NYY Steak. Best decision I made in a long time. For those who don't know, NYY is the steak house inside the stadium located at gate 6 on the second level. NYY is set up like an upscale steakhouse with flat screens throughout, a full bar and a waitstaff that is decked out in slacks and blazers with pinstripe jerseys peaking out from underneath. The menu offers steaks (duh), lobster and fish entrees and different sides to choose from. I was so excited to eat there because I didn't think I was going to get the opportunity this season ,(yes I know its open all year, but I'm more likely to eat there if going for a game.). So I had to take full advantage and pretend that I was not a vegetarian for the evening. Ready? I ordered the surf and turf, which is a small fillet mignon and a lobster tail, a side of lobster mac n cheese and we shared a side of cream of spinach. Omg, I know. LOL. First came out a warm piece of bread that is shaped liked a pretzel, which is placed on a plate shaped like home plate. It was so cute I almost put it in my purse. With the bread is what I would call a mustard/butter. It was heaven. I NEED to know what the hell is in that because I could eat it all day. Oh yeah we also had the crabcakes as an appetizer. I love crabcakes and I have to say this was in my top 5. Delish. Then the food arrived. When that steak hit my mouth, omg. It was amazing. I highly recommend. the only part they lost points on was not offering us dessert because the kitchen was closing and they wanted to get out of there, which you know I pointed out! LOL I couldnt help it. The joint is not cheap but its not as insanely priced as one would think because its in the stadium. Yanks came back to win that night also, great night overall! Thank you Paul.

Thursday, I began my long weekend which started with Djais that night. I like going there because the drinks are very cheap for ladies and the music is good, but it is a total meat market. Notice to all men, touch me without permission, you will get smacked. I love how they look at you afterwards in total shock as if they had no idea they are not supposed to touch you, hysterical. On Friday, in the cherry vodka aftermath, I layed out and actually got a tan! A tan! I can't believe it, for the first time this summer. Saturday me and the crew headed to Atlantic City. I hit on red 5 at the Roulette table but promptly lost it back :( It was fun to win though! That night we headed to the pool party at Harrahs which was a blast, didn't get to sleep till 7 am. But now I'm paying for it! haha All in all an amazing birthday :)

I can't believe the Yankees lost last night against Brett Tomko and the A's. My god, they totally mailed in that game. Wake up boys!!!

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - First baseman Jason Giambi, whose swagger and power helped to turn around an A's franchise more than a decade ago, was released by the team Friday morning in another move designed to give younger players a chance for more playing time in the final seven-plus weeks of the season.

Giambi, a 15-year veteran, was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right quad on July 20 but had not played since he became eligible to return on Tuesday, even though he said he felt physically fine.

The A's already have several infielders capable of playing first base and Giambi, with a .193 batting average, was likely going to find it difficult to get playing time. The team will likely give Tommy Everidge and Daric Barton, once he returns from the DL, more opportunities to play first base.

Giambi, a five-time American League All-Star, signed with the A's after the 2008 season. He played in Oakland from 1995-2001, winning the 2000 AL MVP award, before he signed with the New York Yankees. But in his second stint with the A's, Giambi could never recapture his former glory as he had 11 home runs and 40 RBI in 83 games.

An offensive orgy.

Let me start by saying that someone should take away my Yankeehottie badge.

First, I totally forgot we were playing the Red Sox starting tonight. Second, I came home from work and FELL ASLEEP! I woke up at 9:30 pm to text messages, turned on the TV in the fifth inning to a 9 to 4 Yankee score. I have not been that flustered since I was told that those pictures I took might...wait, umm nevermind.

Nonetheless I was very happy to see us beating the Red Sox, FINALLY! From what I'm being told Joba Chamberlain was not great but not terrible. It was the Yankee bats that saved the day. The whole Yankee lineup was in on the action, including homeruns from Johnny Damon, Mark Teixeira, Melky Cabrera and Jorge Posada. Thus the "offensive orgy" according to Michael Kay. Also, did you know that Melky Cabrera hit for cycle in 1995? Michael Kay knows apparently!

Mark Melancon came into the game and in the 8th inning drilled Dustin Pedroia and Dustin didn't like it. Boo Hoo Dustin, maybe now you should keep your mouth shut and not talk so much shit.

So the Yankees end up winning and are 3 1/2 games in front of the Red Sox. YAY!! I hate you Red Sox. HATE YOU!

Tony Fernandez you say?

The other day Melky Cabrera hit for cycle. Meaning he hit a homerun, single, double and a triple. the last Yankee to do this was Tony Fernandez in 1995. This gave Michael Kay reason to bring up his name numerous times and beat it to death as he usually does with most subjects. So now that Melky accomplished the cycle we don't have to hear his name anymore right?

Wrong.

Last night during the Yankee vs Blue Jays game, several former Jays had a reunion of sorts in one of the sky boxes. Low and behold ex Blue Jay - Tony Fernandez. Deal with it people, hes never going away. Tony Fernandez is here to stay!

On another note, I'm just curious, is Melky ever going to stop doing that weird "Im excited and sticking out my tongue" move? Its creepy dammit. Stop it. It makes me think how you "Enjoy the womens.".

I gotta run, my friend just asked me to bring A Rod as a gift for her engagement party. Now where is Kate.....

Today is a good day since the Yankees are in first place over the Red Sux. Doesn't matter what happens today, at least I have that to hold on too!! hahah

The Yankees have been playing great ball since the break. Even Joba had a great start the other day! Can you believe it? I know, I had to smack myself in the face too. Phil Hughes, Philly 8ball and Alfredo Aceves have been terrific in the bull pen being able to hold teams from scoring.

Sorry, I have not updated lately but the move and working two jobs has taken up alot of time in my life, also I don't have internet set up in my apartment yet so that doesn't help. LOL

Random Thoughts over the past week:

Why the hell is Eric Hinskie not getting more playing time?

Why was ESPN's Erin Andrews "hotel peeper" video page 3 news? Haven't we all seen her naked before? Oh, you have not you say? Its not that hard, just walk around with a football...

Why is David Cone the host of "Yankees on Deck"? His party face could scare children.

Alot of you have asked how the apartment is coming along and everything is going well, still needs some work but slowly but surely!

I work all day Wednesdays and the Yankees love to play during the day on Wednesdays, so one again I miss out!! grrrrrrrrrr, Bastards!!

Happy Independence Day bitches!

Yes, I know it was yesterday, but I was living it up at Yankee Stadium in the Audi Suite, so I didn't post ;) The Audi Club Suite is really insanely luxurious. When you walk in there is a hostess to escort you to your seat. Our seats were in the first row up against the glass. At your seat there is a place setting for you to enjoy your food from the buffet. Yes, I said buffet. You have a server to bring you your drinks. The buffet is upscale dining. There are several cooking stations offering many different dishes. Yesterday some of the items on the menu were as follows: Lobster tempura, Braised chicken sliders, Brisket, Vegetable soup. There was also a seperate hot dog station as well as bread stations that offered all sorts of bread and different butters. There was also ceaser salad, mozzarella and tomoatoes and assorted cheeses available. Last but not least there was a desert cart that offered chocolate covered strawberries, mini cakes, cookies and canolis. Everything was delicious.

The view from our seats was fabulous, sweeping views of the whole field. During the inning you could hear the sound of the YES telecast and in between they would turn it down.

The tickets were purchased by someone else so Im not positive about the breakdown of the price, but I believe it costs $150 for everything and you just have to pay for booze. The ticket price alone is $75 and the $65 "service fee" is for the buffet. Again. I could be wrong so dont take my word for it.

Overall it was a great experience, something I would do again for a special occasion. But nothing compares to being outside with all the screaming fans :)

Yankees went into extra innings with a walk off win by a hit from Jorge Posada. Note to Jorge: Lighten up with the pie in the face. Its all in good fun!

In todays game Joba Chamberlain was on the mound. And well, he sucked. But if you asked him how he did after the game, he thought he did just fine. Im starting to believe that Joba is starting not to care about his job as much as he should. I quote: "Everyday the sun comes up and I still have a job, so thats all that matters." "I was just against a really good line up." Um, yeah so was Aceves and he was almost lights out. My advice Joba : You better check yourself before you wreck yourself!

I am so effin happy that Mark Teixeira beat out Kevin "goatface" Youkilis to start at first for the All Star game! Good work Yankee fans! Jeter and Mariano will be in the game as well.

Im watching Yankees on Deck right now, why does David Cone host this show? I love him in the booth but hes a bit harsh to look at. All that partying kids....

You know your a spoiled Yankee fan when you are saying a Yankee win was boring. But, it was!

Joba was on the mound last night and was not terrible, but wasnt great either. He was just blah. In the 6th inning Joba was out and Philly 8 ball was in. Then it was on to Filthy Phil Hughes. Phil had his great stuff last night, ending the inning with just 9 pitches. But of course Girardi took him out. Why? I dont know. Who know why Girardi makes half the moves he does in situations like last night.

After he took out Phil, Brian Bruney minus one mustache entered. He on the other hand, did not have his stuff. Bruney allowed the Mariners to slash the lead. But in the end, Mo made the save and the Yankees won. A second later, I fell asleep. I think it was the first time I was struggling to stay awake during a game.

Pirate Herpes has infultrated the Yankees!

The Yankees have traded 2 minor leaguers for Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Eric Hinske.

The reason for this is to add some insurance to the bench as Alex Rodriguez will have to be rested here and there due to his hip surgery. Also, the Yankees would like to send down Ramiro Pena so he could further develop and get more at bats. He could be used later on in the season.

If you didn't know already, the pirates allegedly all share the same herpes infested clubhouse hooker. This speculation was fueled last season by what appeared to be herpe lesions on the mouths of some Pirate players.

Burn all his clothes and make sure he is fully medicated! And for god sakes, keep him away from my Tex!!!

The New York Yankees have swept the Mets, Mariano Rivera recorded his 500th save and Alex Rodriguez seems to be coming out of his slump. All is well in Yankee land right now. If your a Met fan, I don't know what to say to you.

Watching Mo get his 500th save was great. Couldn't happen to a better man. Mo is always so humble and gracious and a tremendous competitive athlete. Congrats Mo!

My apartment hunting continued through the week, thus the lack of updates. But I think I have finally found a place and all should be finalized this evening *fingers crossed*. Yankeehottie is an independent woman y'all! haha Watch out world! I was looking in Astoria, Queens originally but nothing seemed to be the perfect place. So I am staying in North Bergen, NJ. People, just because its New jersey does not mean it is light years away! It takes me 20 minutes to get to the city on the bus and it leaves me in midtown. I hate when I tell people I live in Jersey and they make a face like "oh Jersey, that's so far." Its really not. AND I have a view of the city skyline, how many people can say that? LOL I'm just so happy to have a place to make my home and be by myself. Now maybe I can actually date someone? I'm available bitches :) I know its hard to believe.... ;)

Yesterday morning I had lunch with Pops and he requested I post a question here to see the feedback, so here it is...

What is the speed of a good throw from shortstop to first base? Does it compare to a pitcher throwing 92MPH?

Last night there was no Yankees baseball, so I tuned into some of the Brewers/Mets game. WHAT THE HELL IS THE DEAL with the weird Brewer mascot that comes out of I don't even know what that smokey thing is in the outfield, waving a flag?! I think it was the most bizarre celebration of a grand slam I have ever seen.

Finally!!

The Yankees won a game! I was starting to forget what it felt like to cheer for a winning team.

It would seem the Yankees organization was starting to get fed up as well, with Brian Cashman being at the game yesterday and attending a meeting with all the hitters before the game. It seemed to work as the Yankee bats magically came alive last night. I have to give a big congrats to my favorite off the boat player Francisco Cervelli for hitting his first major league homerun. He was so excited and cute running the bases! Love him.

Joe Girardi got ejected from the game last night for arguing Brett Gardner getting picked off at first. That was a TERRIBLE call. He was clearly safe. There was some speculation this morning that Girardi may have asked to be ejected. I doubt it. Tony Pena took over manager duties which I quite enjoyed. I realize Joe was probably calling the shots from 15 feet away but the Yankees seemed to immediately let loose after the ejection. Tony Pena was pumped up while instructing the team. I think more managers should be this way. What is the deal with the miserable straight faced look all the time? Show some emotion dammit!! Shit, I got pumped up looking at Pena.

Joba Chamberlain pitched a hell of a game last night, lasting 7 innings. I don't think he even walked anybody.

Mariano Rivera came in to close it out which meant he got a chance to bat at the plate. I think that was one of the funniest Yankee moments I have ever seen. Melky Cabrera was gearing him up with gloves, helmet and a bat as Mo sat there spaced out. Melky seemed to be giving him instructions as well. I was cracking up. It was like they were sending a kid on a motorcycle and saying "Just close your eyes and hold on tight!" Mo ended up hitting a fast ball to left but it was caught. That my friends was the play of the game. He later admitted that he was told not to swing but ignored these directions. Love Mo.

So this week I am crushing on Cervelli I think. Teixiera just isn't doing it for me this week, I dont know why. Marisol Cervelli sounds good, no?

On another note, it was in Page Six that Kate Hudson has been following the team everywhere to be with Alex Rodriguez. Does anyone else find this a tad desperate? They just started dating! Why does she have to crawl up the ass of every guy she dates? Maybe thats why you are still single Kate! You are a distraction and you should cut it out. Its not that hip surgery that's exhausting him honey.

I am attending the game for the 4th of July, I will be sitting in the Audi Yankees Club. Can't wait to try that $65 buffet! I heard its pretty exquisite...mmmmm Im hitting the gym all week! If anyone is going hit me and lets have a beer ;)

Hamptons Hiatus

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been apartment hunting all week. Its taken up most of my time but should be done next week!

Also, I am spending this weekend in the Hamptons so I doubt I will update. Yes, I can hang out with the "sophisticated". Ha!

Too sum out how I feel about the Yankees right now: Girardi shouldn't get too comfortable, but where the eff are the Steinbrenners? Joba...may very well belong in the bullpen after all. This should have been the perfect oppurtunity to gain some momentum and we ended up looking dumb by the worst team in baseball. Somethings gotta give. Girardi is not doing much to amp up this team, he may be overmatched by veterans who just don't have respect for him.

Yankees, HANDLE IT!

This is something I meant to write about last week but didn't get around too. I have been thinking about how most of the bad pitching seems to be when Jorge is behind the plate. But I wasn't sure if it was just me...then I came across this article via Yahoo Sports....

Can a catcher be blamed for poor pitching? According to the New York Times, and in the case of the New York Yankees, it can.

According to the Times, there is a striking difference in pitching statistics when Jorge Posada catches. With Posada behind the plate, the Yankees' pitchers have a 6.31 ERA The combined ERA with Francisco Cervelli(notes), Jose Molina(notes) and Kevin Cash(notes) is 3.81.

Posada has caught four starts by Chien-Ming Wang(notes), whose job status is now evaluated on a game-by-game basis. Even removing those starts, the staff's ERA with Posada is still high, at 5.47.

The Times reported that A.J. Burnett(notes), in particular, seems to struggle with Posada. In Burnett's four starts pitching to Posada, opponents have batted .330. In nine starts with the other catchers, the average is .223. When he lost a six-run lead in Boston in April, Burnett questioned the pitch selection, though he blamed himself, not Posada. Asked Sunday about the difference in pitching to the rookie Cervelli, Burnett gave a careful but revealing answer.

"I think it's just a matter of — I don't know if it's the catcher — but we threw curveballs in fastball counts, we had them looking for something and they had no idea what was coming, I don't think," Burnett said. "That's huge."

Subway Series

Hi y'all! Sorry I have not updated in a while, I've been just working and taking it easy in my free time this weekend.

This series vs the Mets was a doooozie! I went to Fridays game and had so much fun! First off I finally went to Beers of the World to get me some Blue Moon, which for 11 bucks should come w a damn orange slice! I enjoyed it nonetheless. This was my first subway series, the energy in the stadium was great, I just knew it was going to be a rowdy crowd. Mostly yankee fans around me and a few Mets fans scattered, we all had a friendly rivalry going on....it was friendly until a BOSTON fan, in a BOSTON hat was standing next to me shouting "Let's go Mets, Let's go Boston! Yankees suck!". To my amazement, nobody said anything. I could not let this happen, so I just gazed up at him and said "Shut the fu*k up and get the fu*k out!" Its fun seeing shock on mens faces. When he wanted to return back to his seat, security told him it wasn't such a great idea.

Then, there I was bottom of the 9th with Arod at the plate. Since Arod was only going to do one of two things, ground out or pop out, I had my head down as not to see. As I heard his bat make contact with the ball and no cheers I lifted my head to watch what had to be the final out.
Then, I witness the error heard around the world. I couldn't believe it! I just started screaming in shock as did the rest of the stadium. Random people high fiving and hugging in happiness. It was a great night in the stadium and one I will never forget.

However the second game of the series would not fair so well for the Yankees who ended up losing to the Mets after another terrible pitching outing by Andy Pettite and the bullpen. I just don't get how you have such a rotation and suck?
Enter the Brian Bruney vs K Rod drama. I don't have the exact quotes available to me now but I'm sure you know what was exchanged via the media. My opinion? Bruney had no place saying what he said, there was no need for it. Secondly, who the hell is Brian Bruney? He's just making a name for himself and he's talking shit about a guy who has already done that? I hate to take a Mets side on this one but cmon. Keep it shut Bruney.

Last game of the series, the Yankees just Clobbered the Mets and Johan Santana. A sight rarely seen, the yanks served Johan the worst outing of his career. Hey Ill take it. Ha.

I can describe last night's game in one word..

Disgusting.

I have to be honest, I turned the game off in the 5th when I saw Veras warming. My heart just could not take anymore.

Shame on you Mr. Burnett, you picked the worst game to be terrible in. he had NO CLUE where the strike zone was.

Secondly, shame on you Joe Girardi. Why in the hell did you not have Hughes come in. you want to keep the kid throwing every couple of days and he only pitched one inning the night prior. And it was a TERRIFIC inning. He should have been given a shot yesterday.

The last criminal i would like to shame is Alex Rodriguez. Some "protection" you are for Mark Teixeira. At this point teams are going to pitch around him to get to you, which already started last night. What can be done to this lineup? Im not sure but people need to get hot and stay hot. Too many streaky players from the middle to the bottom of the lineup.

I want to beat Boston so badly and we never do. Are we just going to sit around and hope everyone else does? It doesnt make any sense!

Tonight Wang goes to the mound (I'm already cringing.) I'm not even excited to watch. Last night i actually switched to the METS game!!! But then I had to switch from that game because the announcer mistakenly called Mariano Rivera, Mariano Pavano!! I shit you not. Mariano Pavano!!! Oh my heart...

Anyone who reads this blog is well aware of the fact that I was 0 for 4 at games I have attended this season. However, I attended last nights game which resulted in a win! Yay. If we lost last night I had decided I was not going to go back to the Stadium until at least July. But since this is not the case, I will be attending tonight's game (weather permitting, not looking good right now). If any of you are going...Hollaaaaaaaaa!

Don't F*CK with Mark Teixeira!

He doesn't like it and neither do the New York Yankees. After getting hit twice by pitcher Vincente Padilla, Mark got fired up and I got turned on. It must be all the testosterone that gets me excited. Its hot.

Mark was calmed down by Joe Girardi before he could get too crazy. But he wasn't done. Alex Rodriguez came to the plate after him and hit what would have been an inning ending double play. But Teixeira slid into second hard with legs out almost tripping the shortshop Elvis Andrus and prevented him from making the play at first. After that, all hell broke loose. The Yankees ended up turning a 3-2 Rangers lead into a 12-3 Yankees win.

In the month of May, Mark Teixeira has been nothing short of brilliant, offensively as well as on the field. Teixeira seems to be the total package. This has led me to this thought: When Derek Jeter is no longer an active Yankee, who would be the next team captain?

Before the Teixiera signing I would think about this from time to time. The other big name great player on the team was Alex Rodriguez, but I just couldn't see him as "Captain". Not with all the off field antics and drama, let alone the lack of respect from teammates that was brought up from time to time. Then came the steroid shocker. Nope, just wasn't right.

Mark Teixeira on the other hand has everything going for him. Great player, good personality, good looking( ok, that part only matters to me.) and this team seems to really get behind him and respect him.

I know we have a few years before this happens, but I find it interesting. For example, if Tex became the team captain how would ARod handle it? Would it cause animosity? Do the Yankees have the balls to screw over there big ego player?
